If you've been looking for a genuine and authentic 3rd State (peeled) 1966 LA #6 Mono Butcher Cover that you will be proud to display and treasure, this may be it. Low price for a peel is this quality. Certain high quality peels have been selling for over 3k recently. This Butcher Cover is an excellent value that presents nicely and would look great matted and framed. This is head and shoulders above most offerings you see in this price range. These nicely peeled #6 jackets are much harder to come by in such displayable condition. 
Although it is sad each week to see more and more recently poorly peeled covers go up for sale, the good news is that jackets such as this that present well are only increasing in value as more and more get destroyed each week by amateur peel attempts. TheButcherCover, in contrast to these notable amateur efforts, have consistently and correctly peeled hundreds of the most difficult examples from every Capitol manufacturing plant (#2,#3,#5,#6) for over 4 decades. These examples have been exhibited in books, youtube and many other notable outlets for decades. Most LA designated 2nd state trunk covers were adhered for Capitol Records by the Modern Album Company during the paste over process with a difficult to remove adhesive.These cannot be "steamed" off. For every nice one that exists, there are probably a thousand bad to mediocre peels. Most of the severely damaged 3rd state covers you see on the internet for sale are improperly peeled LA Jackets. Look around and compare. Please check our positive feedback for customer satisfaction of past sales of genuine Butcher Covers. Also look at realized prices of completed auctions and compare.
While the market is currently getting flooded with over-hyped/over-graded peels with large obvious large scars/damage/paper residue, notably warped jactets from improper peeling technique. etc, the good news is that this particular Butcher Slick looks awesome, which is unusual especially in regard to these particular Los Angeles examples. Due to the difficulty of the peel, these LA Butcher Covers are much harder to come by in displayable condition. But don't just take our word for it, look around and compare what you are buying for what price. Take a close look at the photos and please see below for specific condition description.

Condition: 
Front of Jacket:

Front Peeled Butcher Slick is awesome and presents nicely from a professional peeling process. Beautiful colors and presentation on this one and many feel that the LA Jackets in general have a richer look color wise. This is one of those examples where you can actually part of the bench that John Lennon is sitting on. 
No obvious large rips or tears or other obvious that you usually see on these #6 peels. Factory glue residue, paper residue, etc is very minimal. Any touch up on this would be very minimal as this looks gorgeous, especially for a harder to peel #6 LA example. 
Please see photos to verify the specific conditions (photos may vary slightly in colors, shading, etc due to different lighting sources used during photography) described and feel free to contact with questions. The item shown is exact item that you will receive and is a nice example of a west coast peel. 

Seams: 
Top seam appears to have been split 3/4 of the lengths of that seam but neatly professionally remediated with paper hinging material. We've added a few new photos including one showing the seam repair. also we've included a photo with the LP placed inside the jacket to show that the seams are not entirely fused. Bottom seam also appears to have a few inches of splitting on the left hand side and also appears to have been secured with paper hinging tape. To protect the integrity of what remains of these seams and avoid future damage, a record should never be attempted to be forced or stored inside this jacket (See close up photos of seams). 
Spine: 
Spine has most writing legible but some cracking evident on the bottom half of the spine. Like the seams mentioned above, this seems to have been properly secured with archival quality paper hinging tape. (See Spine photos).
Back Of Jacket:  
The back of the jacket displays nicely and is fairly white with only light wear and mild to average tanning, light stains and some light tearing/abrasion near the top which is visible in the photos. (see photos of back of jacket). 
Trunk Slick: 
Sorry but no trunk slick included on this one. Please see attached video of peeling process by TheButcherCover.
Record: 
Comes complete with West Coast mono pressing in VG visual condition (Some light scratches/sleeve scuffs). Has been play graded and plays through nicely without any major issues. Sorry, but there is NO CAPITOL INNER SLEEVE included in this auction. Record will come in an archival quality anti static sleeve.

This item has been through a laborious process from the 2nd state to what you see here, and as such, the grading is unique on this item.This cannot be graded like a comic book or a baseball card due to the fact that this jacket has twice been altered from its original state, once by the paste over process at the Capitol Factory and likewise by the peeling process. Any minor imperfections are from either process.The photos speak for themselves and we do our best to accurately grade these historic artifacts.
