I have been a Beatles fan for well over 50 years!In fact, ALMOST sixty!!!
In all those years I have been blessed with the opportunity to collect many, many Beatle related items!I've collected every record, multiple times, and all the other Beatles items avid collectors love!So, OF COURSE, I bought the most desirable Beatles record of all time!I bought The Beatles "Yesterday And Today" album the day it was released!And YES, it WAS the FIRST STATE Beatles cover!!Unfortunately that cover was lost in a move just a few years after I bought it.That was YEARS AND YEARS before those covers achieved today's values!I replaced it later with a Second State version, which I still have (and listen to!) to this day!(I also have a "4th State" as well!)
Where does THIS "3rd State" example come into the story??
About 20 years ago I had the opportunity to buy a professionally peeled version from a prominent collector, who cherished his Beatles collection but was at a point (where I now find myself!) that he just wanted to downsize his life.
I bought this cover and many other items from his collection, and have already sold come here on eBay as well as other places. Now I have decided to sell some of the remaining Beatles items in my once vast collection and this item is up for sale to the savvy Beatles fan who demands the very best and can afford to pay for it!
I have included pictures of everything, including the record itself, which is in GREAT condition, as well as the record liner that holds it in the cover, but let's face it, it's really the COVER that you're buying here, so base your offer on that alone!
You'll note in the pics there is some wear and tear to the spine and the corners.This is NOT a "perfect" example and you should be VERY WARY of any that do look "too good to be true".The REAL DEAL, which is what this is, will always show some wear!If it doesn't, chances are you're buying a fake.DO NOT let that happen to YOU!THIS EXAMPLE IS 100% GENUINE, and has the battle-scars to show it.BUT....it's a BEAUTIFUL EXAMPLE with an almost PERFECT PEEL!This is NOT one of those amatuer jobs that result in a ruined cover.This was done by a professional who was EXTREMELY skilled, and well worth the very high price paid to get it done the right way!
