A superb original UK first stereo pressing of The Beatles – Beatles For Sale, released in 1964 on the Parlophone label, catalogue number PCS 3062.

This outstanding collector's example features the original -1/-1 matrices together with an exceptionally low 1 / P mother/stamper code on Side One, placing it extremely early in the original pressing sequence.

Complete with its original Garrod & Lofthouse laminated gatefold sleeve and period Emitex poly-lined inner, this is a beautifully preserved EXCELLENT PLUS example of the considerably scarcer original UK stereo issue.

Description:

An original UK first stereo pressing of Beatles For Sale, released in December 1964 on the Parlophone label, catalogue number PCS 3062.

The record carries the correct first issue black and yellow Parlophone labels with “THE PARLOPHONE CO. LTD.”perimeter text, “SOLD IN U.K. SUBJECT TO RESALE PRICE CONDITIONS” and “RECORDING FIRST PUBLISHED 1964”.

The original YEX 142-1 / YEX 143-1 matrices confirm the first pressing, while the exceptionally low 1 / P mother/stamper combination on Side One makes this a particularly desirable early production example.

Under EMI's GRAMOPHLTD stamper system, P represents the 6th stamper, meaning Side One was produced from the very first mother using only the sixth stamper in the sequence.

Original UK stereo Beatles LPs from this period were produced in substantially smaller quantities than their mono counterparts, making high-grade first stereo pressings particularly sought after today.

A superb collector-grade copy combining genuine first issue characteristics, an exceptionally early pressing code and outstanding overall condition.

Condition:

The vinyl grades EXCELLENT, retaining an exceptional deep black mirror-like gloss across both sides.

Under strong direct photographic lighting only a small number of very light superficial sleeve removal/hairline traces can be seen. There are no significant marks or scratches.

The black and yellow Parlophone labels are exceptionally clean with vivid colour and beautifully preserved silver print. Only very light evidence of spindle use is visible.

The original Garrod & Lofthouse laminated gatefold sleeve grades EXCELLENT. The front retains superb high-gloss laminate and exceptionally strong colour with only very minor signs of use.

It remains well preserved and the spine is clean and fully readable. The gatefold interior remains exceptionally clean and bright with only minimal age-related wear, while the rear panel retains excellent laminate and strong colour.

The original Emitex poly-lined inner sleeve grades EXCELLENT, remaining clean and complete with only light age-related creasing and handling.
