Description

The Beatles issued a record each Christmas from 1963 to 1969. These were 7" flexi records. In 1970 after their official split the fan club issued a 12" vinyl disc to the remaining members - of which I was one! This is the record I received. It contains the 1963 to 1966 Xmas records on side 1 and 1967 to 1969 on side 2.

It was issued on the Apple label and took the number LYN 2154. There was however a mix up with the matrix codes since the label on side 1 has the number LYN 2153 with the matrix code LYN 2154 on the run-out. Side 2 has the number LYN 2154 on the label with the matrix code LYN 2513 on the run-out. This led to some confusion in the factory leading to the issue of discs with the side 2 tracks on the side one label.

The labels are in excellent condition with minimal spindle trails. The disc surface is excellent with no discernable scratches - just a couple of finger marks. It plays excellent.

The disc sleeve is white with MADE IN ENGLAND and PATENT No. 1,125,555 on one side. It is a little faded at the edge but has no other marks, tears or creases. It has the unavoidable impression of the record.

The sleeve is of internal seam constrauction and its condition is very good. It has two or three minor creases towards the open side. The edges of the sleeve are crisp, a little worn on the bottom edge and the corners have minimal dog-ears. The spine is excellent containing no title text or other identification.

One would be hard pushed to find a better example considering it is getting on for 41 years old - and has been in my personal collection for that entire period. I have now retired from work and have moved - selling only because of a need to downsize.

Happy to respond to any questions.

Offered at a low starting price but have protected its collectability by setting a realistic reserve.
