I have been collecting UK Beatles albums for more than 45 years and have accumulated more than 1000 UK Beatles albums alone! Here on offer, an original early 1st UK pressing of The Beatles "Help!" 1965 recording and released in 1965! This mono pressing features the earliest -2-2 matrix variation with the K.T. tax code stamped on side 1. Beatles UK pressings in top condition with decent near mint audio quality are becoming extremely scarce to find especially like this being over 53 years old! There is minimal light general wear and tear with age and use. Please note! The vinyls playing surface is very nice and clean, importantly there are no nasty marks that cause any interference in the form of any loud constant clicks or pops during the absolutely stunning top audio through out! It is quite obvious that the vinyl has been played but there are no audio sounding marks on the vinyl that would cause any loud constant clicks or pops during the audio and certainly no skips or jumps! (Any interference was perhapes light static heard in between tracks or quieter places only) Please note! Any who know that my main interest in vinyl is the audio quality. Play tested three times on a top system prior to this listing using a dedicated mono cartridge!

Your browser does not support the audio element.Help! is the fifth studio album by English rock band the Beatles and the soundtrack from their film Help!
It was released on 6 August 1965. Produced by George Martin, it was the fifth UK album release by the band, and contains fourteen songs in its original British form.
Seven of these, including the singles "Help!" and "Ticket to Ride", appeared in the film and took up the first side of the vinyl album.
The second side contained seven other releases including the most-covered song ever written, "Yesterday".
The American release was a true soundtrack album, mixing the first seven songs with instrumental material from the film.
Of the other seven songs that were on the British release, two were released on the US version of the next Beatles album, Rubber Soul, two were back-to-back on the next US single and then appeared on Yesterday and Today, and three had already been on Beatles VI.
In 2012, Help! was voted 331st on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the "500 Greatest Albums of All Time".In September 2013, after the British Phonographic Industry changed their sales award rules, the album was declared as having gone platinum.
The album cover shows the Beatles with their arms positioned to spell out a word in flag semaphore. According to cover photographer Robert Freeman, "I had the idea of semaphore spelling out the letters 'HELP'. But when we came to do the shot, the arrangement of the arms with those letters didn't look good. So we decided to improvise and ended up with the best graphic positioning of the arms."
On the UK Parlophone release, the letters formed by the Beatles appear to be "NUJV", whilst the slightly re-arranged US release on Capitol Records appeared to indicate the letters "NVUJ", with McCartney's left hand pointing to the Capitol logo. The Capitol LP was issued in a "deluxe" gatefold sleeve with several photos from the film and was priced $1 more than standard Capitol releases at the time.
Help! was the band's final British album (aside from the late 1966 compilation A Collection of Beatles Oldies) to feature any cover songs until 1970's Let It Be (which included a performance of the traditional folk song "Maggie Mae").
In 1966, Capitol would release "Act Naturally", already on the British Help! album, on Yesterday and Today. "Bad Boy" and "Dizzy Miss Lizzy" (both written by Larry Williams and recorded on 10 May 1965, Williams' birthday) were both aimed at the American market and originally not intended to appear on Help!, but "Dizzy Miss Lizzy" ultimately did. Both songs appeared on Beatles VI, released in the US in June 1965. "Bad Boy" was not released in the UK until A Collection of Beatles Oldies, and was that album's only cover song.

The vinyl is of a substantial weight thick heavy and chunky slab of vinyl compared to later press which are much more flimsier! On initial inspection of the playing surface has retained its original sheen from new and lays perfectly flat on the turntable. (Please note! I have double checked this, no warping) This is free of any warping. I find it hard to see any real nasty surface marks or scratches), importantly No nasty needle scratches at least no real nasty audio sounding marks or scratches to mention , No marks that would cause any loud clicks or pops during the audio that I heard! No Distortion Stunning Top Audio Quality! ( Hear for yourself in the player above) Any marks that could possibly be seen angled to the light would be light whispy sleeve removal scuff types only, consistant with a 50 year old record!
The Audio Quality
I have played this vinyl two times prior to listing, at very loud volume on a top system, importantly, using a dedicated mono cartridge. This 53 year old vinyl plays through absolutely superbly my opinion! Clear and very vibrant with that deep bassey feel , only found like this on these earliest mono originals! I heard (no) loud constant clicks or pops during the audio and amazingly no nasty surface or background static during the audio! There are Certainly no skips or jumps! I also could not see any scratches or marks that would cause any loud constant clicks or pops! (Note: very isolated interference noted in the form of static/distortion on the track "Yesterday" a common pressing problem on this track with 1st issues ) I would grade the audio at least excellent plus to very near mint for the most part throughout! A lovely original mono very playable copy!

Please note! I always add this disclaimer! I have given my honest opinion when describing the audio quality of this album and those who know the listings and vinyls that i sell my prime interest is the audio quality! Please allow for the odd background and isolated static crackle /tick/ticks perhapes in between tracks , but nothing heard consistent through out the audio! No Loud constant clicks or pops! This is a genuine (not) reissue vinyl that is 53 years old and would have been played on a system that is 53 years old! Mono Audio.
Please note, this album has been stored in a case laying dormant for at least 45 years or more. A build up of dirt and dust in the grooves causes static\ crackle\ ticks. A constant clean before each play is recommended. This will reduce any static and will enhance the audio quality. Points to note, I notice debrit on the playing surface after play so this will need cleaning before each play which will further enhance this audio quality

Around the label rims (only 1ST UK press) ''MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN''.! (UK PRESS ONLY)! K.T tax code stamped on side 1 (correct for 1965 only 1st UK press)
There is little if (no) spindle ware (the hole is perfectly round) see photo. Spidering can be seen angled in strong light (this has obviously been played but not overplayed in my opinion! )
The Record Sleeve
This is the original Emitex ,poly lined record sleeve (Correct for this pressing) Becoming fragile light creasing /fading with age only No edge splits or tears nice condition. Please note, THIS IS THE ORIGINAL .
The Cover
The original 1ST UK PRESS GARROD & LOFTHOUSE Printed. super glossy laminated front, with flipbacks at the rear of the cover! Overall exceptionally clean concidering that this is 53 years old. There are some light thumb creases noted on the front in the laminate and minor light lines at the spine edges but in my opinion nothing too bad at all. Small 1cm crease at the opening edge. The rear is generally clean and free of any handwriting any marks/fading are light only in my opinion. Note: A small 1cm tear noted at the rear but you have to look to notice in my opinion. This cover must grade at excellent in my opinion.
