Listed for sale is the vintage album HELP ! by The Beatles, released in June 1965 by Odeon & EMI Records.  This particular album is rare and unique in that it was  released in Germany under the Odeon (German) label.

The title across the face of the album is written in German:

DIE ORIGINALTITEL AUS DEM BEATLES-FILM DER UNITED ARTISTS "HI-HI-HILIFE"

This is translated as:  "The Original Title from the Beatles United Artist Film "HELP !"

The term HI-HI-HILFE was the German title for the movie (HELP !) released in Germany.

This album has 14 tracks (songs) compared to the North American Capitol Records release, which included 12 tracks.

The album reached No. 1 on the US Billboard charts as well as in the UK, Australia and Germany.  Some of the songs in the album were included the HELP ! movie  by the Beatles.

The vintage songs on both sides of the album can be viewed on the back of the album cover (See images). 

The album was recorded in England.  

Condition:  There are no signs of 'shelf wear' on the cover.  The left side edge of the cover has a small (one inch) slit and the rest of the cover and edges show no  wear. It has been stored in a smoke free environment for the past 52 years.    There is minimal ring wear on either side of the record (see close-up images of both sides).  

The color of the record is bright (record label colors are cream, red & gold) as it has been stored in smoke-free environment for decades. All of the four corners of the cover are in very good condition.  The inner sleeve  has no creases, tears or wrinkles and actually feels in like-new condition (see images 4, 5, 6 & 7).  Note:  If one looks closely, the inner sleeve shows American records along with French and German and is written in all three languages!

The vinyl itself is in VG++ condition. High gloss shine and very few along with lightly visible needle marks on the after-groove portion (See close-up images of both sides - Nos. 5-8).  Play graded VG++. Labels are clean with no spindle marks. (See images) Really the record is in overall REMARKABLE condition!!! Conservatively graded. US shipping only!

SPECIAL NOTE:  I personally purchased this album immediately after it was issued in 1965 in San Francisco.  This record has been played, conservatively, less than a half dozen times in 50+ years ... I played it for the first time since that era during this past week (both sides complete) in preparation for listing the album for sale.

It was my practice to purchase albums of the era (1960s, while I was single !!) and immediately record them on my  reel-to-reel Stereo Tape Recorder for playback through my stereo system.  (See stacks of my tapes in Image No. 10 for informational purposes only; tapes are not for sale).  This practice was true for all the albums in my library - I did this for every album.  So, this album is in Very Good condition from a wear and quality standpoint as it has been stored continuously since that time.

Beatles Stereo:  One of the features I really enjoyed about Beatles' songs in stereo was the high degree of separation that existed in the recordings.  For example, I would turn the sound completely down on the Left speaker, and I might hear just the music on the right speaker ... sometimes, not even a faint sound of singing.  I would also try other combinations that would bring out some of the individual voices of a particular Beatle ... nice feature not often found elsewhere in music of the era... it still brings me pleasure, to this day, to listen to Beatles' music.  

Some super great songs on this album!  Love 'em all !!  Special ones to me are Help!, The Night Before, I Need You, Another Girl, You're Going To Lose That Girl, I've Just Seen A Face and Yesterday .... all bring back to me special times and special people and relationships I had ... a masterful piece of work ... still !!... 5 decades later !!

GRADING STANDARDS

NM (Near Mint) Like new

VG++ The record will have a few visual imperfections that should not affect the sound.

VG+ More surface marks than VG++. The record has been played but well taken care of and should play with very few audible imperfections.

VG The record will display light surface scuffs and marks. Expect some light surface noise in parts or occasional clicks or pops. A VG record will play with minimal noise and will be quite enjoyable.

VG- The record may have deeper more audible scratches. There will be more clicks and pops than that of a VG record but with ll play without skipping.

G The record will have very heavy wear, deep scratches and very apparent surface noise, clicks or pops.

Poor: Records with this grade should be considered unplayable.
