''Hey Jude'' Is a rock ballad written by Paul McCartney (credited to Lennon/McCartney) and recorded by The Beatles. Despite being over 7 minutes long, it lasted two weeks as number one in the British charts, and spent nine weeks as number one in the United States, the longest spell at the top of the American charts for a Beatles single. Originally titled "Hey Jules", it was written by McCartney to comfort John Lennon's son Julian when Lennon and his first wife, Cynthia Powell, were divorced. The song made many "Best of..." lists compiled by magazines such as Rolling Stone, where it was number 8 on their list of the 500 greatest songs of all time.

The Vinyl

The audio quality is superbe (AND AS I HAVE SAID THIS IS THE BEST MIX THAT I HAVE HEARD FAR FAR BETTER THAN A 1ST PRESS MINT COPY THAT I HAVE ON THE APPLE LABEL!!!! this plays through without any background noise that I heard (no) clicks or pops!!!please note! apart from a few seconds at the begining of ''hey jude'' I did hear light background cracklle but the rest of the audio could not be surpassed in my opinion.Visually to be very critical I can notice extreemely slight foxing which could have been from the original manufacture of this press for a 1st pressing this looks nice, in strong light surface marks \scratches can be seen but very very few and none audio sounding that I heard (In fact the audio is so good that I played this record more than a few times and compared it with the apple pressings and was so amased at how different the two are the audio is superbe and apart from this being so rare and sought after this is a must for this audio mix!!!!!! I would class myself as highly critical so please look at my completed listings of records that i have sold of this calabre and you will see that i normally get it right!! visually there is very (very)slight\light surface marks\scratches  only seen in extreeme light, these have little if (no) effect on playback at all that i heard!!!!This is extreemely rare for a single that is 40 years old and out of hundreds of beatles singles in my posession This audio mix will be hard to surpass and is the best that I have heard on this pressing !!!!

This features the PARLOPHONE LABEL and cat no. DP 570 ''MADE IN GT.BRITAIN with ''THE GRAMOPHONE CO'' in upper case (only 1st press)visually i cant see much spidering (which also indicates this has been hardly played)certainly not overplayed!!!!

This is AN ORIGINAL PARLOPHONE COMPANY  cover  has some creases with age (no) horrible names or writing!!!Please note! this is becoming very fragile being 40 years old!!!!!!!!!!
