Description
A rare and possibly unique opportunity to bid for a piece of modern music history - an authentic original white label pre-production test pressing of The Beatles' single 'Hey Jude/Revolution' issued by EMI on the Apple label in August 1968. Both sides of the disc have blank white labels which gives the name to these items. The matrix numbers have been hand written on each side of the disc and the date stamp of 23 Aug 1968 appears on one side. The name of 'Beatles' and the titles 'Hey Jude' and 'Revolution' have also been neatly hand written on each side.
Only a very limited number of these pressings would be produced, many of which would be destroyed, which means they are extremely rare. These two sides carry the matrix codings 7XCE21185-1 and 7XCE21186-1. I believe the record was issued with the coding R5722.
The disc comes in an original factory plain white sleeve. I have had it in my possession for nearly 40 years during which time it has been played only a small number of times and therefore it remains in near mint condition.
