PARLOPHONE 45-R 4949 OCT 1962!
Here is a super addition to your Beatles collection! The winner of this auction gets the following:
The early October, 1962 original VERY FIRST PRESSING of The Beatles' first single, LOVE ME DO! According to expert Bruce Spizer, in his latest Beatles book, ONLY A FEW THOUSAND OF THESE COPIES WERE PRESSED!
- The Label features "Ardmore & Beechwood Ltd" aligned close to the centre hole, a tell-tale sign that this pressing was the first of what would end up to be many additional pressings in the coming years!
- The label does have a sticker adhered to side one, with "TR" printed below the hole. On the flip side, "TR" is again printed below and to the left of the hole.
- The matrix numbers in the run-off groove on side one are: 7XCE 17144-IN with a ZT tax code and a P at 3:00. On side two, the numbers are: 7XCE 17145-IN with a ZT tax code and a G at 3:00.
- Visually, the record has been used, with numerous superficial marks on the vinyl. The labels have a few rubs.
ALL IN ALL, A VERY ACCEPTABLE PACKAGE - ESPECIALLY IF YOU'VE ALWAYS WANTED TO OWN A VERY FIRST PRESSING OF THIS SINGLE AT A VERY REASONABLE STARTING BID!
