BEATLES LP SGT PEPPER'S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND: PARLOPHONE PCS 3071: STEREO 1-BOX EMI in EXCELLENT CONDITION: RARE 1969 ONE BOX EMI LP.
On offer is THE BEATLES LP entitled SGT PEPPER'S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND released in the UK in STEREO in 1969 on the very rare ONE BOX EMI silver/ black PARLOPHONE label PARLOPHONE PCS 7027.
These pressings – known as the ONE BOX silver/ black EMI – were only produced for a very short period of time in 1969. They followed on from the YELLOW BLACK Parlophone pressings and were issued with flip-backs on the GATEFOLD sleeve. They are highly desirable collectors’ items these days. This one for auction here is in LOVELY EX condition and comes with the cardboard cut-out fully intact. It has been well looked after since its original purchase by being kept in a plastic sleeve for protection as part of my personal collection of BEATLES LPs.
This lovely rare LP is in a strong EX condition as follows-
· The laminated GATEFOLD flip back sleeve is in lovely clean and clear EX condition. The inner gatefold is in lovely EX condition with some slight loss of laminate in the middle between Jon and Paul. There is no writing or marks of any kind on the sleeve or the labels.
· This LP has been kept in a plastic sleeve for many years which has helped to preserve its fresh look.
· The disc is also in EX condition with a very nice bright sheen to the vinyl. The matrix numbers are: – YEX 637 – 1 & - YEX 638 – 1.
· The labels are in nice clean and clear condition too.
· The LP is housed in its original EMI inner sleeve (the sleeve features pictures of other EMI LPs then for sale).
· The cardboard cut-out is in lovely condition too.
· The LP plays EX throughout with a nice full stereo sound audible when I test played this on my hi-fi. In fact my notes after playing it read: ‘Plays great!’
Overall this is a highly collectable example of the Beatles one box EMI stereo LP – Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band - on silver / black Parlophone in EX/EX condition that has been well looked after over the years as part of my personal collection.
