“MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR” (STEREO) SMAL-2835 – FIRST PRESSING! You’re looking at a very nice copy of a 57 YEAR OLD GATEFOLD ALBUM that’s not easy to come by in this kind of condition. The NEAR MINT VALUE of this album is $350.00! Here are the particulars: 

TITLE: “MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR” (Capitol SMAL-2835 – STEREO) FIRST PRESSING!

COVER: EAST COAST with all songs credited to BMI & “No you’re not!” in block letters. 

RECORD:  EAST COAST PRESSING with Scranton “IAM” stamp in trail-off area.

MATRIX NUMBERS: Side 1: SMAL-1-2835-A23       Side 2: SMAL-2-2835-B24  

LABELS: EAST COAST with all songs credited to BMI. 

GATEFOLD COVER: (VG+) – (All BMI credits with “No, you’re not!” in block letters.) 

FRONT: The front gatefold cover looks fantastic. The colors are bright and sharp. The 4 corners each have only the tiniest of dings. The only other blemish I can see is about 2 inches of very light fraying at the bottom of the right seam. (I don’t know if seam is the correct term, but that’s all I could think of.) Outside of that, a truly beautiful cover to look at.  (SEE IMAGES.)

BACK: The back gatefold cover shows no sign of ring wear. There are a few minor spots of fraying at the open edge. The 4 corners have only minor dings.  The top left corner seam was just starting to split at the opening, so I repaired it with less than an inch of Invisible Acid Free Tape.  (SEE IMAGES.)  

24 PAGE BOOKLET: The Booklet is all there and in great condition except for the fact that the middle section and the staples have come loose, leaving just the first and last pages of the booklet still attached to the cover. I did find one tiny piece missing at the bottom of Page 23, right next to the page number.  (This is a very common occurrence since these “outer pages” were glued to the inside cover at the factory.) 

SPINE: All text is sharp and clearly legible with only the “S” in Stereo missing a tiny piece that come of at the very top. This spot was beginning to come loose, so I repaired it with less than an inch of Invisible Acid Free Tape that slightly overlaps the front and back covers. Still a great looking spine. Just check out the image I provided.  (SEE IMAGES.)     

VINYL RECORD: Looks (VG+)   Sounds (NM)

RECORD: – Play tested.  No skips. (Scranton pressing) Both sides look like they’ve hardly ever been played.. Just some minor scuffs. Both sides also still retain a lot of their original luster. A nice piece of vinyl that sounds great and is great to listen to.   (SEE IMAGES.)  

 LABELS: Both labels look great with only some very light spindle marks.  (SEE IMAGES.) 

SLEEVE:  Comes in new generic sleeve.  

NOTE: Record grading is very subjective, so be sure to inspect all the images carefully and decide for yourself.  Also be aware that some imperfections that are visible in the images may not be listed in the descriptions. If you have any questions, please contact me before you bid. 

*** RECORD ALBUM and SINGLES SHIPPING: All records will be securely shipped in sturdy cardboard mailers. The records will be removed from their covers and original inner sleeves and placed in acid-free paper or poly sleeves. The cover will be put in a loose-fitting polyethylene sleeve. The cost of these shipping supplies are paid for by yours truly,  the seller.
