Description
Original US mono copy of
THE BEATLES
MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR
MONO 33 1/3
CAPITOL RECORDS, MAL-2835, 1967
vinyl is VG+ *see notes below, looks very clean seldom played, and I have to say listening to this in MONO is better than stereo in my opinion
Gatefold sleeve is strong VG+, minor shelf wear, corners still sharp, lite rub on bottom right corner, few bumps on bottom edge
Booklet, in almost perfect condition, still intact, inner bound pages had slightly pulled causing a subtle tear (less than 1cm) at staples on outer sheet. no creases
Original Pink wave inner sleeve, is fine except for a maybe inch long split in the side opposite opening, I will ship the record in a new white paper sleeve
NO creases in booklet, no dust, no tears, written markings, this album was found in plastic, was kept in awesome condition. This is a very nice find.
After listening once, here are my notes:
i've noticed this with other records though am unsure of what it might be called. on a few spots 4-5 on side 1 and 2 there are these little bumps that may have been dust or sand in the original vinyl material when it was pressed. They don't pose a problem except for subtle pops at the opening of a few tracks
SIDE 1
Opening track of side 1, just after the first chorus "....take you away" there is a tiny skip on a guitar riff, I cannot see any defect on the surface at this point though it is noted.
subtle pops on very beginning of track 4 Blue Jay Way
subtle pops on very beginning of track 5 Your Mother Should Know
lite fuzziness at end of side 1, this could be sound included in the recording? don't really have another source to compare it to.
SIDE 2
Deep in the background I can hear lite crackles on track 1 Hello Goodbye through the first minute and there it is in the background again on Strawberry Fields as well Penny Lane
I do not own a professional VPI cleaner, but I'm guessing these crackles may improve with a good cleaning.
