Description

 PLEASE, PLEASE ME.    1963.

 THE BEATLES

GOLD AND BLACK PARLOPHONE PMC 1202

 ORIGINAL MONO FIRST PRESSING.

 FIRST BEATLES ALBUM ON PARLOPHONE

MATRIX NUMBERS

SIDE ONE  XEX 421-1N,

SIDE TWO  XEX 422-1N

This original mono first pressing is a very scarce item, although it is not in the best of condition. There is no cover so it would be ideal for someone who has a spare E.J. Day.  Please, Please Me album cover. The vinyl has several scratches but surprisingly the sound quality is much better than it looks. I think this is due to the deep groove style that was used to produce vinyl records in the sixties. The record plays throughout without any sticks or skips but it has background clicks in places especially between tracks. Both the gold and black labels are relatively clean and readable so the record would make a ideal display item.
