THE BEATLES
'PLEASE PLEASE ME' LP
UK Parlophone Label Mono Cat No PMC 1202
This is a third pressing copy with a black-and-yellow label design. It is housed in a Ernest J Day Sleeve with a large 'Mono' on the front. “The Parlophone Co. Ltd.” perimeter print but without “Recording first published 1963?. Without the small 33 1/3 prefix on labels. Tracing-rice-paper-lined “Use Emitex” die-cut inner sleeve. Matrix numbers: Side 1: XEX 421-1N; Side 2: XEX 422-1N.
The Vinyl is clean and shiny having been cleaned professionally. There are no stickers or writing on the label. There is moderate spindleware. The playing surfaces are marked in several places. There are scratches on both sides and these are audible in between tracks 2 to 4 on Side 2. There are blemishes on Side 2 which cleaning has not been able to remove but they did not cause any audible interference when played on my good-quality deck with an arm tracking at 1 gram.
There is no denying that the vinyl is far from perfect but it does play and this copy of the album is included here because of its rarity and collectability. I would rate the condition of the vinyl as Fair to GoodMinus.
The Vinyl comes in the original polylined 'EMITEX' Inner Sleeve which has a small split of approx 3/4" at the top of one side. There are no other tears, splits, writing to the Inner Sleeve and it is in fact in fine condition apart from the one split.
The outer sleeve is in tact. It has two tears/splits. I have tried to show the two areas in my photos, please see above. One is along the bottom fold at the foot of the rear of the sleeve , the other is directly opposite in the top right-hand corner of the reverse of the sleeve. Other than these the outer sleeve is in robust condition with only slight wear and fraying along the bottom edge of the sleeve. I would rate the condition of the outer sleeve as a conservative G.
Item comes with my no nonsense guarantee and will be properly packaged for shipment anywhere in the World. I separate the Vinyl from the Outer Sleeve to avoid splitting or damage during transit. Please see my recent feedback for assurance when bidding and please check out my other items for sale.
