Description

This is a VERY RARE Black & Gold MONO UK 1963 Pressing called 'Please Please Me' and is SERIOUSLY RARE!!!!  This really is a GREAT looking Black & Gold LP with STUNNING labels and VERY shiny vinyl!!!!  It is also the RAREST UK Black & Gold Pressing with the MUCH rarer 'Northern Songs' credits to BOTH labels!!!! The Northern Songs credits are the RAREST of the 2 credits which appear on these Black & Gold LPs and were changed shortly before the later Yellow & Black Parlophone labels were introduced. This LP is known as the UK Black & Gold 2nd Pressing with 'Northern Songs' credits to both labels and is MUCH RARER than the Black & Gold 1st Pressings with 'Dick James' credits!!!!  THIS IS A MASSIVELY RARE LP IN EVERY RESPECT!!!!  THIS LP HAS STUNNING CONDITIONED BLACK AND GOLD LABELS - AND THESE ARE ONE OF THE BEST SETS OF LABELS I HAVE SEEN ON THIS LP!!!!  TAKE A LOOK AT THE PICTURES - IT REALLY IS INCREDIBLY RARE TO FIND BLACK & GOLD LABELS IN THIS CONDITION!!!!  NOT ONLY THAT BUT THIS BLACK AND GOLD PRESSING HAS MUCH MUCH RARER 'NORTHERN SONGS' CREDITS ON BOTH LABELS!!!!  FINDING A 1963 UK BLACK & GOLD MONO PRESSING OF THIS LP IS HARD ENOUGH - BUT FINDING ONE WITH BRILLIANT LABELS LIKE THIS ONE HAS, AND WITH THE RARER 'NORTHERN SONGS' CREDITS - IS EXTREMELY RARE INDEED!!!!  NOT ONLY THAT BUT THIS LP HAS A SLIGHTLY WORN (BUT CLEARLY ORIGINAL) 'SAMPLE' STICKER ON THE SIDE 2 LABEL - WHICH MUST MAKE THIS LP EVEN RARER STILL!!!!  THIS IS AN EXTREMELY RARE UK 1963 BLACK & GOLD MONO 2ND PRESSING (WITH RARER 'NORTHERN SONGS' CREDITS) AND IS EXTREMELY HARD TO FIND (ESPECIALLY WITH STUNNING LABELS LIKE THIS ONE HAS)!!!!  SO DONT MISS OUT ON THIS MASSIVELY RARE LP!!!! This is the ORIGINAL 1963 MONO UK Black & Gold pressing from 1963 and is in GREAT condition!!!! This is an ORIGINAL UK 1963 Black & Gold pressing, with the Black & Gold Parlophone labels  (with the much MUCH rarer 'Northern Songs' Credits), 'The Parlophone Company' edge text, an E.J.Day Sleeve and a Polythene lined Emitex inner. The record is pressed on THICK quality vinyl. The matrix numbers are XEX 421-1N & XEX 422-1N. The stamper codes are 2/GL & 1(with a 2 below it)/GM. The record also has an MT tax code on the label.  The Cat. No is PMC 1202 on the ORIGINAL Black & Gold Parlophone label (see picture) and is a MONO pressing!!!! All the tracks are Pure quality Beatles at their best!!!! Any fan of The Beatles, or 60s music in general, will want to have this in their collection!!!!

The record labels are in STUNNING condition (see pictures) with VERY clear unfaded sharp Gold print, beautiful unfaded black colour, barely ANY wear around the centre hole AT ALL, and only a few light spindle marks!!!!  There is however a MEGA faint (only visible when angled under light) virtually INVISIBLE name on one label (NOT on ANY text) on the black part of the Side 2 label just to the right of the 'Sample' sticker. I MUST stress that this is virtually INVISIBLE (black biro - so virtually impossible to see) and certainly does NOT detract from these STUNNING labels!!!!  The vinyl is in GREAT condition!!!! As many collectors know - Black and Gold Records are the VERY hardest Beatles Pressings to find in anywhere near decent condition. Most are found damaged and barely playable. However this one is NOT and the first thing to STRESS is that it is NOT 'covered' in marks and scratches!!!! In fact this vinyl retains a GREAT shine and is VERY 'black' looking - with NO nasty 'greying' of the vinyl!!!!   Visually the vinyl has NO nasty deep scratches, a few light hairlines,  2 or 3 light scufflines and only a few light paper scuffs only visible under light!!!! THE RECORD STILL RETAINS ALL OF ITS ORIGINAL 'JUST PRESSED' LOOK!!!!  It is also great to find that the record plays as STUNNINGLY as the visual with NO nasty loud pops, only a VERY few light clicks/pops, NO sticking, NO jumps, and barely ANY crackle, and only the VERY slightest lowest level background sound in places!!!! Even most of the gaps are virtually SILENT!!!!  There is NO distortion and NO groovewear either!!!!  The record must STRICTLY visually grade Very Good (maybe +) (PROPERLY graded, NOT trashed) if not better!!!!  Believe me this record is NOT overgraded in ANY way!!!! I use STRICT RC grading standards - it is not in my interest not to!!!! Brillant!!!!  The record also comes in its ORIGINAL POLYTHENE lined Emitex inner sleeve which is in FANTASTIC condition!!!! The E.J.Day FLIPBACK Cover is in GREAT condition (with one defect - see below)!!!! Overall this is a BRILLIANT looking cover with NO edge wear, NO spinal wear, slight corner wear, only a few light creases (cover is VERY flat looking), VERY shiny laminate and NO writing!!!! The opening edge is beautifully straight with NO feathering!!!! Even the unlaminated back of the cover is in GREAT condition with NO writing, only VERY minimal grubbyness, 1 MEGA faint indentation (NOT affecting any text), and only some VERY slight yellowing!!!!  ALL the flipbacks are FULLY intact with just some VERY minor ruffling to the edges.  HOWEVER just above the bottom flipback, and just below the top flipback there is a thin brown 'age' line (NOT ink, NOT a stain and NOT damp).  This may have been caused by some long disappeared tape - though the actual flipbacks themselves show no evidence of this and ALL flipbacks are INCREDIBLY clean and shiny!!!!  Without these brown lines the cover would EASILY grade Very Good+ if not better - but with these brown lines the cover must grade Very Good(Minus) (PROPERLY graded, NOT trashed) if not better!!!!  THIS IS AN EXTREMELY RARE BLACK AND GOLD PARLOPHONE UK PRESSING WITH STUNNING LABELS, A STUNNING INNER SLEEVE, AND A GREAT RECORD!!!!  IT ALSO HAS THE MUCH RARER 'NORTHERN SONGS' CREDITS!!!!  WHILST THIS ISNT A MINT BLACK & GOLD PRESSING - IT IS MILES BETTER THAN THE USUAL 'TRASHED' EXAMPLES THAT TURN UP - SO DONT MISS OUT ON THIS MEGA RARE LP!!!!

TAKE A LOOK AT THE PICTURES - I DO MY BEST TO SHOW THE RECORD FROM ALL ANGLES AND MAKE THE PICTURES AS CLEAR AS POSSIBLE - THERE IS NOTHING TO HIDE!!!! It really is a GREAT looking LP and it is truly rare to find any copies of this MEGA RARE Beatles LP!!!! THIS WILL BE YOUR ONLY CHANCE TO BUY AN ORIGINAL 1963 BLACK & GOLD MONO UK PARLOPHONE 2ND PRESSING (WITH RARER 'NORTHERN SONGS' CREDITS) OF "PLEASE PLEASE ME" BY THE BEATLES, IN GREAT CONDITION!!!!  Dont forget to have a look at all my other items including many other VERY rare Beatles & other LPs, and contact me with any queries you may have.
