Description
I have been fortunate enought to inherit some rather valuable Beatles LPs. This being the most exciting find by far!!!!
******EXTREMELY RARE******
A Bargain at just £50 starting bid!!
I have seen the same record reach in excess of £400!!
Parlophone label: PMC 1202
Both labels show 'Parlophone Co Ltd...' rims
The labels carry the 'Northern Songs Ltd.' publishing credits for side 1 songs 1&2 and side 2 songs 4 & 6 with 'Dick James Mus. Co.' publishing credits for side 1 songs: 6&7
Housed in a correct, front laminated cover with the 'Angus McBean' credit in the lower right corner. Record also comes complete with original clear windowed 'Use Emitex' inner-sleeve.
Matrix numbers: XEX 421 IN & XEX 422 IN
Labels: VERY GOOD PLUSA great looking pair with true centre holes which have not been 'inked' to hide wear. Although as is to be expected from a record that's over 40 years old there are some slight marks around the centre holes, slightly more visible on Side2.
Visual: VERY GOOD PLUS
Inspection under a direct lamp reveals some light fingernail scuffs and a few hairline needle scratches and wispy sleeve removal hairlines but no deep scratches. The disc has certainly not been treated badly and still retains a good shine and there are but no feelable marks or major surface wear.
There is a slight dish (not warped) on side2, but this in no way affects play or sound quality. Side 1 is 100% flat.
Audio: VERY GOOD
This copy has been played often but looked after and in no way abused. I have played the LP very loudly to accurately report the sound quality. Overall, the sound is bright, warm and clear with just some minor intermittant wear audible on some extreme peaks but no clicks, pops, jumps or repeats. A low level crackle can be heard between a couple of the songs, but otherwise record is in fantastic condition!!
Cover: GOODThe front panel is bright and clean with an unscratched, undamaged laminate bearing a few creases around the edges at the top and bottom.
The corners display just some light bruising, however, on the bottom opening seam there is a split in the cover measuring approximately 4 1/2 cms (2 inches). The laminate edge continuing from this towards the centre of the bottom edge is damaged but not split!
The rear panel is clean although there is some discolouration from age.
The spine is unworn, some slight discolouration but clean and readable.
