Description
On offer here is a UK original 1963 mono 3rd pressing of the Please Please Me LP by THE BEATLES. This edition comes with the 'Parlophone Co. Ltd. rim text but without 'Recording First Published' and the ‘Sold In UK’ text. This copy comes in a laminated flipback Ernest J Day sleeve. The matrix numbers are Side 1 – XEX 421-1N & Side 2 – XEX 422-1N. Catalogue number is PMC 1202. Mothers & stampers are: Side 1 – 2 MT & Side 2 – 1 above a 2 AT under letters R&O which have been crossed out.
Visually the record grades as VG condition, there are quite a few light hairline and some heavier marks etc on both sides but I have played it through and as usual with these original thick vinyl 60’s pressings it plays through really well. Despite the odd noticeable click and background noise in quieter parts and between tracks but doesn't overpower the music or ruin the listening experience, but there are no sticks or jumps and it is 100% flat with no dishing or warping. The labels are pretty good though with some spindle wear and a small nick in the black colour on side 1, but there is no writing. There are no tax codes stamps on either side.
The original flipback laminated EJ Day cover is graded in EX- condition with just some very minor staining at the opening and very light creasing and corner wear. It is in overall great shape the flipbacks are completely intact, there are no splits, scuffing on edges, tears or writing with spine being fully legible. This is a very nice sleeve!
Comes with original Emitex inner sleeve in really nice condition with no tears etc.
