Catalogue No. PMC 1202 (XEX.421 / XEX.422) - Flipback sleeve has 'Ernest J. Day' publishing credit, so is pre-Garrod & Lofthouse.

Sleeve Condition: G - `There are 8-10cm splits at the top and bottom edges and half of the flipback sleeve is missing at the top. The bottom corner has what appears to be a scissor cut around the flipback - which is almost loose. There is a split fray halfway along the spine. There is also the usual creasing, edgewear and wear and tear of a record this age. Slight indent mark in the middle of the sleeve. Apart from the tears, this isn't in too bad shape for a very rare record.
Vinyl Condition: G/G+ - LP is played and has scuff and storage marks on both sides, but having inspected, and played through, results in minimal crackling at a couple of points. No skips or jumps or very deep scratches. Side 2 has a scratch mark across 4 tracks which, again having been played, results in slight crackling but no jumps. It sounds well played if anything. There are some marks on the wax which should also clean off. Spindle marks to both sides but really just general storage marks on both sides.
Other Notes: VERY RARE and SCARCE 1st Press Mono album from The Beatles. This is the elusive and hugely in-demand BLACK AND GOLD Parlophone label release of 'Please Please Me'. A fantastic and original item for Beatles collectors and completists!! A very difficult record to find anywhere nowadays, and is only going to become even more harder-to-find in time! Don't miss this one people, they don't appear very often!!All items are visually graded using Record Collector magazine grading system

Mint: Record is in perfect condition. Sealed or unplayed.
Excellent: Record shows some signs of having been played. Cover & packaging may have slight wear and/or creasing.
Very Good: Record has been played many times. May have noticeable surface marks and the occasional scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects.
Good: Record has been played many times, sound quality has noticeably deteriorated. Cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing, spine splits etc.
