Description
THE BEATLES - PLEASE PLEASE ME LP (South African MONO Parlophone PMCJ 1202, 1963)
Ultra-rare, 1st South African Pressing on very first "Navy Blue" label (which changed for pure black in 1965) - with different logo design & beatifully old-fashioned white border at the top of the front cover!!! This is the real rarity because all those items were pressed in micro quantity. And... My copy is really lovelable...
Cover: EX Maybe it's EX-, but for that kind of LP it's near perfect! Some 15 micro-wrinkles (0.5cm - 1cm each) around the laminated front cover. Matt flipback sleeve is very clean and fresh - with the same, lite wrinkles around & one crease on top right corner. No thumbnails, no writings, no dirt. I have never seen this pressing (and seen it only 3 times in my life) in such a nice condition!
Record: EX- It's mainly a EX+ condition, but a very few deeper marks on the surface downgraded it a bit. Very fresh and nicely sounding.
Labels: EX+ (just a hair below M-) I'm sorry for a flashy & blurred photo! In real world it's shiny and fresh!
I know it would be cool to starts the listing with 0.99 or at least with 9.99, but in the last 15 years I paid a lot of hard earned cash for my (always cherished and well-cared) Beatles records. I always tried to find the items in best condition possible (NO VG, etc.). I know the Ebay it’s a huge lottery, but I can not risk too much. Please understand my point of view. Thanks.
You can bid with confidence – I’m a collector too, so I perfectly know what does it mean to win an overgraded record!!! You can check my recent, very positive feedbacks.
I took my grading system from Record Collector magazine (with EX between M and VG)
