I have just finished playing this superb record and didn't get one jump and VERY minimal surface noise!!
PMC 1202
The vinyl: Some visible hairline marks, but NOTHING TO AFFECT PLAY.
The labels: "MT" tax code on side 1. A small amount of spindle marks. Very, very clean overall.'The Parlophone Company' edge text, NO 'Sold In The UK' text, NO 'First Published' text, a LARGE 'MONO' on the cover front. "The Parlophone Co."
1st press: Songs 1 & 2,7 on side 1 as well as songs 4 & 6 on side 2 have the "DICK JAMES MUS. Co." credit.
Early Mother Stampers: Side 1: 1/O Side 2:1/GG
Matrix Numbers: Side 1: XEX 421-1 Side 2: XEX 422-1N
The Cover: Unfortunately the cover has seen better days. The back has a strip of just under 6.5cm of the ORIGINAL Ernest. J. Day cover coming away from the flip back in the lower left corner. There also seems to be a slight watermark in the top right corner around the MONO on the front cover. Angus McBean in the extreme bottom right corner. However the front cover is still nery bright and the spine is still strong and NO writing anywhere!
Overall grading (in line with the Record Collector Guide):
Labels: Excellent.
Vinyl: VG++/Excellent (purely due to vsible marks but no distortion in sound at all).
Audio: Excellent (both run-ins are silent without pops and crackles).
Cover: Good (front laminated E.J.Day cover).
