  On offer here, the very rare THIRD Press of the Fabs' first album Please Please Me. It's Label Variation A, which comes without the 33 1/3 speed indicator left to the record's spindle hole.
As a rule (which for whatever reason many traders and collectors are not aware of), "proper" third presses, in the sense that disc matches the cover version and vice versa, come with the first press "GOLD" cover, manufactured by Ernest Jay Day, where, contrary to all covers coming later, beginning with the fourth press, photo credit for "Angus McBean" is in the very right lower corner on front, starting under the "s" of "songs".

One, if not THE highlight with this copy is its stunning, unbelievably clear audio. While every experienced collector knows well about the quality of British vinyl, in particular discs from the early 1960s, the one on offer here sets finest standards! We know that only a few collectors also play their rare collectibles, however, if you're one of them, you don't wanna miss this lovely piece of gold. Heavy and thick 175g vinyl "packed" with an awesome sound experience!

After fifty-one and a half year this beautiful lady is still in a very good thru excellent condition. For the stats, album was published in June 1963 as a THIRD press of Please Please Me, and is doubtlessly an authentic copy:

• The Parlophone Co. Ltd printed in the perimeter rim
• E.J. Day "GOLD" cover with large "mono" on front
• NO "SOLD IN U.K..." above spindle whole
• NO "Recording First Published..." above side indicator
• NO "33 1/3" speed indicator (Variation A)
• M.T. Tax Code stamped to Side A

So, why making many words on what is obvious? If you are a collector who doesn't own this very rare pressing already, which is moreover barely showing up on the market, or if you own a so-called filler copy only, because of its scarcity, you virtually have no other choice than buying it now.

Audible checks are performed with a Pro-Ject Audio system connected to a DENON PMA 520-AE amplifier, with a Sennheiser 350 headset.     Remarks   As for the E.J. Day "GOLD" Cover and related issues, please refer to pictures provided right after. Spine is in perfectly readable condition.
Front luminated cover is completely glossy on the front. Clean folds, fresh colors.
Due to its biblical age of more than fifty-one years, comes with small seam splits, and transparent tape on back (see photos).
Edges scuffed. Ring wear, on front very mild only. Back occasionaly shows spots.
Original EMITEX inner sleeve is in lovely condition and grades EXCELLENT.
Labels are clean. A small letter writing on both sides, spindle hole wear.
Vinyl is overall shiny. There's hairlines, no deep scratches, or something.
Again, this dignified lady is more than 51 years old...

Reagarding Audio: Boy, it's simply awesome, not to mention an age of over 51 years.
Goes without saying that record plays perfectly thru and doesn't jump or skip. Neither has it clicks, or pops. Few noise only, in particular at Chains on Side A and Twist And Shout on B-Side. As usual, last songs on either side aren't as clear as the rest.
However, this copy plays an incredibly straight mono sound with virtually no distortion of any type at all!! It'll be hard to find a comparable third press of Please Please Me that fits to hold this copy a candle. As a conclusion, our verdict is EXCELLENT PLUS, where Side A has a tendency to near mint.

We are Collectors, hence every record is stored (and will be sent) in a sophisticated way. Many experienced collectors were thrilled by our unique, bullet-proof "packing technicque". Original cover, inner sleeve(s), prospective inserts, and/or whatever may come across, are stored separately. The vinyl sits in a neutral antistatic, padded inner sleeve, which is housed in a stable, neutral cardboard cover. Package is protected by one (or more) transparent plastic sleeves. Finally, all items are being wrapped with thick bubble foil and go to a professional record mailer, which is then being properly sealed with water-resistant tape.
