Here is another from my personal collection! Purchased from new in the 70s just played barely a handful of times and then stored in a case with the vinyls seperated from their sleeves and the cover! This is how I have always stored my records! This is becoming highly collectable being the original 1st issue on red vinyl with the large red sticker on the front cover (only released on original copies) and look at the superbe condition the cover as well as the sticker are like new! Very rare to find like this!

1962–1966 (widely known as The Red Album) is a compilation of The Beatles' greatest hits from 1962 to 1966. It was released with 1967–1970 (The Blue Album), a compilation of their greatest hits from 1967 to 1970. 1962–1966 made #3 on both the U.K. Album Chart and U.S. Billboard chart!!.

The Beatles themselves participated in selecting the songs for inclusion, as well as the colours and pictures. Even though the group had had success with cover versions of songs, most notably with "Twist and Shout", which made #2 on the Billboard charts, only songs composed by the Beatles themselves were included!!.

It is recognised as the first Beatles compilation since their breakup on 31 December 1970. Both it and 1967-1970 were produced by Apple/EMI at least partially in response to a bootleg compilation titled Alpha Omega, which had been sold on television the previous year!!

The album covers of both 1962-1966 and 1967-1970 showed the Beatles, looking down from a stairwell in the EMI building in London. The earlier photo was taken from the same session that produced the one used on their first album, Please Please Me (1963). The later photo was taken in early 1969, with Harrison, McCartney, Starr and Lennon replicating their exact poses in the earlier photo. The internal gatefold photo was taken in July 1968, during the "Mad Day Out" photo sessions around London.

Notable differences between US and UK releases!!

Please note! the British and American versions of the vinyl album contain notable differences!!. "Help!" on the American edition includes the "James Bond-intro," while the same song on the British edition does not. In addition, the British version of the vinyl album contains mysterious whispering leading into the song, "I Feel Fine," which does not appear on the American edition of the vinyl album. Finally, in a number of instances, the American and British versions of the vinyl album utilized different mixes of the same song!!.

The Vinyls

Both vinyls on initial inspection gleem as new and barely a mark can be seen both vinyls are perfectly flat and free of warping!. Please note! Both vinyls have barely been played a handful of times ever by me only! Any marks that could possibly be seen in strong light would be sleeve removal only (no) scratches or audio sounding marks at all! After purchase of this album I quickly removed each vinyl and seperated them from its original sleeves for protetion onf both the sleeves and vinyls!

The Audio

I have played both vinyls track for trak on a top system at very loud volume prior to listing! The audio is clear and vibrant through out with (no) licks pops or any interfearance that I heard what so ever!!! The audio played as new on my system!! So rare to find these originals like this!

The labels

All four labels are very near perfect! Any spidering seen you would have to angle them to the light to see! just a handful of plays ever!

The lyric record sleeves

Absolutely superbe condition! Bare minimal edge ware to talk of, the vinyls were seperated from these sleeves very soon after purchase which has protected these for all of those years unbeleivable!

The cover

This is the correct Garrod & Lofthouse printed gatefold cover! (I say correct because I have seen many of these listed with often swapped over covers!) This carries the correct catalogue number 'PCSPR 717' (only originals) This also features the original round red sticker at the front of the cover (only 1st issues) This cover boasts of being very near perfect! Any creases or marks or imperfections are to the bare minimal and you would have to scrutinise the cover to finfd them! ABSOLUTELY SUPER, SUPER GLOSSY LAMINATE, RARE WITH NEAR PERFET ORIGINAL STICKER!! (often seen worn and faded) 

Very very rare to find like this!, This must grade as Excellent plus plus!!

A rare original Near Achive Copy! Never need to upgrade from this 1st issue copy!!
