Description
Up for auction is a stereo UK 1st pressing of Revolver, in excellent condition.
Cat. No. PCS 7009. Matrix No: YEX 605-1 & YEX 606 –1. Stamper codes: 1/OP & 3/OG. This is a STEREO UK 1st pressing on Yellow & Black Parlophone labels, with “Sold in the UK” text, and the “Gramophone Company” edge text. This is a much harder to find stereo pressing, especially in this condition.
The G & L cover is in excellent condition, a very strong and beautiful cover, and most would call it excellent (+) to near mint. There is no edge wear, no spine wear, no corner wear. The laminated front cover is beautiful, highly glossy with no glazing and no ring wear or ring impression, and retains the strong black & white colors with only the very slightest of barely noticeable yellowing. There are only a few small minor creases on front. The back cover is also beautiful, with no rubbing or marks or wear, and only the slightest of barely noticeable yellowing on the flipbacks. This is a beautiful cover.
The original “Patents” inner sleeve is in excellent condition.
The vinyl is in excellent condition, with no marks and only a few faint hairlines and minor paper scuffing visible under the strongest bright sunlight.
The labels are in excellent condition with only faint and small spindle marks and perfect spindle holes.
This copy plays very well, rated at excellent, with only very light crackling, and with near silent run-ins. There are no skips or nasty pops. The run in to “Good day Sunshine” and “Taxman”, the first songs each side, are near silent, only the very faintest crackling, and how often will you ever find that in a 1st pressing? “I’m only Sleeping” has some clicks and some light distortion, but does not ruin the overall sound and excellent listening experience of this LP. The toughest sound quality test on this album, “Love you to” has several light clicks. This is an excellent sounding copy, very strong, clean, clear UK sound.
This LP was sourced in the UK by a reputable and well-established UK dealer when I acquired my UK collection a number of years ago. It has been played only once since I purchased it to verify condition and just recently once again to prepare this listing. I am now selling off my prized collection of UK albums. Check my other current listings, and I will be listing more, so keep an eye out.

Please ask me if you have questions about my descriptions or condition ratings. I search for and list all imperfections I am able to detect. I strive to be accurate, complete, and conservative (i.e. not over-rated) in my descriptions. My audio equipment is good (Denon receiver / Technics turntable / Audio-Technica stylus & cartridge / KEF speakers), but not audiophile quality. Contact me with any concerns when you receive an item, your satisfaction is very important to me.
