HELLO AND WELCOME TO MY 'ONE OFF' WEDNESDAY NIGHT AUCTIONS (ENDING LATE WEDNESDAY 2ND JULY!)!!!!

RARITY:-  One of The Beatles rarest LPs ever - and very VERY hard to find now!  This one is made even rarer still - as it is an ULTRA rare 'Factory Sample'!  It is also completely MISPRESSED (as I will explain below) and is an ULTRA RARE 'Transitional' LOUD CUT pressing - with the 579-1 side having the all important LOUD CUT pressing and the other 580-4 having the standard pressing!  This LP also has the much MUCH rarer E.J.Day cover (most were made by 'Garrod & Lofthouse' instead!) - which is very VERY hard to find indeed now!

FACTORY SAMPLE:-  'FACTORY SAMPLE' PRESSINGS WERE ONLY EVER PRESSED IN ABSOLUTELY TINY AMOUNTS (NO MORE THAN A HUNDRED COPIES AT THE VERY MOST!), AND WERE ONLY EVER USED FOR 'IN-HOUSE' USE BY EMI / PARLOPHONE THEMSELVES (FOR PROMOTIONAL PURPOSES), OR VERY OCCASSIONALLY ONE WAS GIVEN OUT TO 'IMPORTANT VISITORS' TO THE FACTORY - SUCH AS PROSPECTIVE CLIENTS FOR EXAMPLE!  'FACTORY SAMPLES' WERE NEARLY ALWAYS THE 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESSINGS EVER MADE - AND ARE TRULY EXCEPTIONALLY HARD TO FIND TODAY!  BARELY ANY 'FACTORY SAMPLE' 1ST PRESSINGS OF THIS LP WERE EVER MADE - MAKING THIS LP OF THE UTMOST RARITY!

AUTHENTICITY:-  FACTORY SAMPLES ARE NOW VERY HARD TO FIND (ESPECIALLY GENIUNE ONES!), AND SO IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO CHECK EVERYTHING IS CORRECT & AUTHENTIC.  FIRSTLY, THE 'FACTORY SAMPLE' STICKER IS DEFINITELY 100% GENIUNE - BEING OF THE CORRECT PAPER & COLOUR, AND THERE IS NO EVIDENCE OF MOVEMENT.  THERE IS ALSO CLEARLY NOTHING UNDERNEATH THE STICKER AND NOTHING IS BEING HIDDEN.  RUNNING YOUR FINGER OVER THE STICKER FINDS IT 100% FLAT & UNCREASED, AND THERE IS NO 'GLUE RESIDUE' OR OTHER INDICATIONS OF A 'RE-STICK'.  AND AS THE LABEL HAS A FEW SPINDLE MARKS - SOME OF THESE RUN ACROSS THE STICKER AS YOU WOULD EXPECT.  AND THOUGH YOU CAN NEVER BE 100% CERTAIN WITHOUT AN LPs FULL HISTORY, I AM VERY FIRMLY OF THE OPINION, THAT THIS 'FACTORY SAMPLE' STICKER HAS BEEN ON THIS LP ALL OF ITS LIFE, AND IS 100% GENIUNE IN EVERY RESPECT!

HISTORY:-  I ACQUIRED THIS LP FROM A PRIVATE HOUSE CALL IN 2006.  HE SAID HE WAS AN EX 'EMI-REP' WHO PRESENTED EMI'S PRODUCTS FIRSTLY AT RECORD SHOPS IN THE LATE 1950s AND EARLY 1960s, AND LATER TO MAJOR COMPANIES IN THE LATE 1960s AND EARLY 1970s.  AND TO BE HONEST, I HAD NO REASON TO DOUBT HIM.  HE HAD A WHOLE RACK OF 300+ COLUMBIA & HMV CLASSICAL LPs (EVERY ONE WITH A 'FACTORY SAMPLE' STICKER) - ALL DIRECT FROM EMI.  THOSE I HAD NO INTEREST IN (AND NO DOUBT HE PROBABLY STILL HAS THEM!) AND IN ANY CASE, HE WOULDNT SELL THEM (AS HE WAS A CLASSICAL FAN!).  HOWEVER, HE DID HAVE 25 SINGLE DEMOS (4 OF WHICH WERE BEATLES DEMOs - WHICH I SOLD ON EBAY BACK IN 2006), AND 20 OR 30 POP LPs, AGAIN - ALL FROM EMI.  THIS WAS ONE LP FROM THAT COLLECTION.  SO ALTHOUGH I HAVE TO RELY ON THE PREVIOUS OWNERS WORD, ALL THE EVIDENCE AT THE HOUSE CALL POINTS TO THIS LP BEING 100% GENIUNE, AND OBTAINED DIRECTLY FROM THE FACTORY BACK IN 1965!

MISPRESSING:-  The above owner told me this LP was rescured from destruction in 1965.  It was mispressed way WAY too thinly (easily the thinnest 1st Pressing of this LP I have ever seen!), and not thought of a thick enough quality to sell to the public.  So he acquired it for himself, along with the correct 'E.J.Day' cover being used at the time!

SIGNS OF PLAY:-  REGULAR (CLEARLY THE PREVIOUS OWNER ENJOYED THIS LP)

LABELS:-  VG+ (Nothing wrong with the labels AT ALL!  Only downgraded on account of quite a few spindle marks.  'Factory Sample' Sticker also has slight wear to the right).

GRADING:-   VG if not better (graded VERY strictly indeed, under a 150 watt bulb!).  This is a VERY bright & shiny example, with NO nasty feelable scratches, only a few VERY light hairlines, NO scufflines, NO nasty deep marks AT ALL, and only a VERY few of the lightest paper scuffs only visible under light!  In fact, I am VERY certain most people would visually grade far higher than this!  Generally the record plays with NO pops barely ANY clicks AT ALL, NO jumps, NO sticks, and barely ANY crackle AT ALL!  However, probably due to the mispressing of the VERY thin vinyl - this record does have some noticeable background sound, though this is generally lost WELL behind the music, and it is certainly still VERY enjoyable to listen to (I played it end to end just now!). So overall still a VERY decent example indeed, to which I have applied the VERY strictest gradings!

INNER:-  VG+ (Original Emitex Inner - NO damage, just slight creasing)

COVER:-   ULTRA RARE 'E.J.Day' Cover is at least VG if not better - and still a very VERY decent cover indeed - with NO major defects AT ALL!  The cover has NO edge wear, NO spinal wear, NO splits, only some VERY minor evidence of 'tipping in' to the corners, NO rips, NO tears, some corner wear (NOT through the colour!), only a few VERY light creases (most of the cover is UNCREASED - with the majority of creasing being near the lower opening edge, and the cover is still VERY flat looking!), shiny laminate, barely ANY record impression to the laminate AT ALL, and NO writing!  The opening edge is beautifully straight with barely ANY feathering AT ALL!  And even the unlaminated back of the cover is in GREAT condition - with NO annotations, only a few light creases to the flipbacks, barely ANY rubbing AT ALL (virtually NONE!), NO ringwear, only 1 TINY grubby mark, barely ANY yellowing AT ALL, and NO writing!  A very VERY decent cover indeed - and very VERY strictly graded!
