Description

This is an ORIGINAL 1965 CAPITOL RECORDS U.S. RAINBOW LABEL STEREO SCRANTON FIRST PRESS LP containing the album titled 'Rubber Soul' from The Beatles.  It is Capitol Records U.S. catalog number ST-2442, rainbow labels, with the original factory shrinkwrap still surrounding the cover.  Record comes packaged inside the cover in its original stock Capitol Records inner sleeve with pictures of other then-current Capitol Records LP releases.

First press with rainbow rim labels and a border around the cover.


* The ''NEW IMPROVED'' caption is in brown inside the picture and there is no ''File Under'' caption in the top border.


* The artist's name above the spindle hole consists of the names of the Beatles, but does not mention the group's name. The ''Stereo'' caption reaches over the tracklisting.


The triangular IAM stamp in runout indicates pressing at Capitol Records Pressing plant, Scranton Pennsylvania.

Visual condition of record is conservatively a real nice high VG++ with all original gloss and just a very few very light visible surface marks which cannot be felt and do not affect play.  Condition of cover is also VG+ with the original shrinkwrap still surrounding the cover, and with the main flaw necessitating this grading being some small worn areas along the right hand open edge of the cover.  Only other very minor flaw is a little bit of wear on the corners on the open edge.   Cover has no splits, tears, or any other flaws.  Capitol Records stock inner sleeve has just a few light wrinkles, no splits or tears.
