Description
"Rubber Soul"....
This plays SUPERB...The sleeve has a couple of defects...(I also have a clean,complete wide spine Sgt.Peppers listed so have a look!)...
Issued on Parlophone in 1965...PMC 1267...UK pressing in mono...Front laminated Garrod And Lofthouse sleeve with full flipbacks...Complete with black and white advertising inner sleeve (which advertises albums from around 1965...)...The mothers and stampers are:3MA/?4PL (? means a squiggle that I can't read!)....The matrix numbers end in 5/5...(2nd pressings are either 4/4 or 5/5)...The KT tax code is still clearly visible on the A side label....The top and bottom of the spine are"Crimped" in true 60's styl...It's NOT a loud-cut!
Both sides have just a few minor light hairlines and scuffs (nothing serious!)...The record still retains a nice sheen as well...They are unimportant as both sides play perfectly!...I noted no clicks,pops or surface noise..A nice,clean,full sound!...It's not dished and has no edge warps......(Played with a Shure cart tracking at 2G..)
The labels are undamaged with clear and untarnished text...They show only light spindle trails...
The sleeve has a defects as follows (Use this info to form YOUR evaluation of the sleeve grade!)....Firstly the front has some visible laminate creases which look as if they were caused at the pressing plant through faulty application of the laminate....Secondly,a pencil price on the back..Almost certainly from the shop it was originally sold from!...(Personally,I don't regard this as a defect...It's more a part of the heritage of this copy!).....Apart from which,the sleeve is not quite flat ("big deal!" I can hear you say!)...There is slight corner wear...There is slight yellowing to the flipbacks...That's it!...
The inner sleeve has slight ageing to the white but no seam splits....Some say that this should have a sepia coloured inner sleeve,but this is the sleeve I got it in and has pictures of 1965 albums on it....(NONE of my spare "sepia inner sleeves have 1965 albums advertised on theM...They all have post 1965 albums advertised!...
A really clean playing copy of a classic Beatles album...A sleeve with some minor issues...There is NO BIN now price on this...It starts at £20 and it makes what it makes!..
