ABSOLUTELY CRISTAL CLEAR AND VIBRANT TOP TOP ON ALL FREQUENCIES!!  

Another from my  personal collection of Beatles records that I have accumulated over a period of  over 45 years or more!  Here is an original, complete, 1st UK pressing of The Beatles Sgt Peppers Lonely Harts Club Band Album, stereo original and complete with the cut outs and the red and white fools inner! A very rare to find copy with ''1'' to ''1'' mother stampers incredibly rare to find like this. Please note! This vinyl has obviously barely ever been played the vinyls playing surface looks abolutely stunning! I have played the vinyl at very loud volume on a top system and the audio is superb cristal clear and vibrant through out, in fact very near as perfect, (my only critism is that i heard justy very very light static ticks at the very intro to the first side, but importantly nothing during the audio which was near as perfect throughout! (This was probably caused by someone dropping a needle at this point but to be honest i can't see any thing.) But I have heard many many copies of this album over the years and this is up there as one of the most vibrant and clear copies and one of the best stereo pressing that i have heard!  The  Garrod & Lofthouse flipback gatefold cover is the correct earliest 1st issue stereo, very collectable being totaly complete with the original red and white fools inner and cut outs! important note! this is the earliest heavier thick chunky slab of vinyl. (From my personal experience Beatles earliest pressings are the best audio experience in my opinion)  without any annoying  clicks or pops and no distortion which is so often found on these original Beatles records!  These original thick and chunky slabs of vinyl ,(only found on the earliest pressings) produce the best audio experience that can not be surpassed in any other format in my opinion!

Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band is the eighth studio album by the British rock band The Beatles. Recorded over a 129-day period beginning on 6 December 1966, the album was released on 1 June 1967 in the United Kingdom and the following day in the United States. Sgt. Pepper is often described as The Beatles' magnum opus, and one of the most influential albums of all time by prominent critics and publications!

When Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band was being recorded, "Beatlemania" was waning. The Beatles had grown tired of touring and had quit the road in August 1966. After one particular concert, while being driven away in the back of a small van, the four of them—even Paul McCartney, who was perhaps the most in favour of continuing to tour—decided that enough was enough!!. From that point on the Beatles became an entirely studio-based band.

 For the first time in their careers, the band had more than ample time with which to prepare their next record. As EMI's premier act and Britain's most successful pop group they had almost unlimited access to the state of the art technology of Abbey Road Studios. All four band members had already developed a preference for long late night sessions, although they were still extremely efficient and highly disciplined in their studio habits!!!.

George Harrison, the lead guitarist of the Beatles, went on a trip to India to learn to play the sitar, an Indian instrument, with Ravi Shankar, a renowned sitarist. Harrison brought back with him Indian culture and music!!.

Two songs dropped from Sgt. Pepper, "Strawberry Fields Forever" and "Penny Lane", were both recorded in late 1966 and early 1967. Brian Epstein decided that a new single was needed; the two songs were issued as a double-A-sided single in February 1967!!!. In keeping with the group's usual practice, the single tracks were not included on the LP (a decision Martin maintains he regrets to this day). They were released only as a single in the UK at the time, but were included as part of the American LP version of Magical Mystery Tour (which was issued as a 6-track EP in Britain). The Harrison composition "Only a Northern Song" was also recorded during the Pepper sessions but did not see release until January 1969 when the soundtrack album for the animated feature Yellow Submarine was issued!!!!.

The Vinyl

The vinyl lays perfectly flat on the turntable! This is the original 1st issue, very thick and chunky type of vinyl only found like this on the earliest pressings. These have deeper grooves and are much more robust than later press! On initial inspection the vinyl  still retains its natural glossy sheen from new and initially looks like new in my opinion! Any marks that could possibly be seen angled to the light would be sleeve removal only. Importantly there are (no) audio sounding needle scratches or audio sounding marks at all that I heard or can see at all that would cause any loud annoying clicks or pops, any other marks that could possibly be seen would be whyspy sleeve removal only. Again, Importantly, no marks that would cause any loud annoying clicks or pops!!

The Audio Quality

 I have carefully played this track for track four times, on a top system at very loud volume, on a top system prior to listing! The audio is graded  at least excellent plus to very near mint throughout,

probably one of the most vibrant stereo copies that i have heard I find it really hard to majorly fault the audio quality on this vinyl. (As mentioned earlier in my description i heard some very very light static ticks at the intro to the first side but importanly as soon as the audio starts this is soon forgotton this was probably caused by someone dropping a needle at this point but i find it hard to see where this is on the vinyl.  There was perhaps the odd minor very light isolated static/tick or interference but nothing really to be bothered about in my opinion. Cristal clear and very vibrant throughout,, (no) loud clicks or pops heard, certainly (no) skips or jumps, any static or isolated static tick heard would be very minor indeed  THE AUDIO IS ABSOLUTELY SPECIAL EVEN IN THE QUIETEST PLACES! Most importantly none of the normal horrible surface noise was heard even in between tracks this was lovely and quiet  Quite unbeleivable for this earliest and most collectable, being STEREO,  46 year old Beatles album!  I would class myself as highly critical especially when it comes down to the audio quality! Please look at my completed listings of records that I have sold of this calaber and you will see that I normally get it right! I would grade the audio at least excellent plus to near mint!

Please note! I always add this disclaimer! Please allow for the odd minor, light isolated static/ticks as per mentioned, and  perhaps only  heard in an isolated quiet places (not consistant through out the audio) perhapes caused by dirt or dust build up over the years of laying dormant in my opinion! Please remember that this is a genuine 46 year old vinyl that would have originally have been played on a 46 year old system! 

A constant clean is recomended before each play! ,, this would drastically reduce any static and would greatly improve the audio quality!

 I must emphise! THE AUDIO PLAYS THROUGH  CRISTAL CLEAR AND VIBRANT WITH ABSOLUTELY (NO) SIGNS OF DISTORTION OR THAT THIS HAS BEEN OVERPLAYED AT ALL!  Audio is graded at least excellent plus to near as mint on my systems!

The Matrix along with the unbeleibly early mother stampers shows that this is an original early 1st pressing and very collectable!

The labels

Original Parlophone yellow and black 1st issue labels. Features ''Sold In The UK...'' text across the labels (only 1st uk press) ''The Gramophone Co Ltd....'' is featured around the label rim (only 1st press) K.T. tax code is stamped on side 1. (only early press)

Little if no spindle ware the hole is perfectly round.  Just bare minimal spidering can barely be seen around the spindle hole around the spindle hole when angled to the light. This has obviously barely ever  been played and certainly not overplayed in my opinion!

The Cover

This is the original  Garrod & Lofthouse (large)  flip back cover! In superbe condition for 46 years old.(Please note! This is features unusually vibrant, rich colours rare to find, many are seen very incipede)  With no edge splits or tares. Any storageware with age is minimal only in the form of light laminate creasing/rubbing/ and minute scuff marks at the rear only to mention.    The laminate retains its super glossy appearence. There is some laminate creases only to mention at the front (see photos) and minor creases are noticed at the rear near the spine.  The spine is generaly straight without the normal nasty crushing, just light creases and minor scuffing noticed when scrutinised.   The cover is respectable strong, clean and very straight as it should be and all writing is fully legable. This cover must grade at least excellent  in my opinion!

The Record Sleeve

This is the original 1st issued red and white fools inner record sleeve. Becoming fragile with age and has creasings with age only! There is edge splits beginning. This is now always stored seperately from the vinyl and cover.

These are as new condition and the original!
