Description
Beatles - "Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" original and first release, mono, UK 1967 reel to reel tape in complete and mint minus condition. Released at the same time as the original vinyl album in 1967 - and much rarer.
Tested on my Sharp RD 708 and plays perfectly. All complete with packing slip, Emitape leaflet, Emitape central spool stickers both sides, and the small green Parlophone sticker to the 4 inch reel . Nothing is missing ! White printed leader tape to Part 1 and red printed to side 2.
The lid and base are in complete, solid and clean condition with no split corners, no writing, scuffs or tears, as is the card inlay. Superb !
I hesitate to say it but I do not think you will find better. The whole package is complete and in superb condition. You will not be disappointed.
For those interested in reel to reel tapes, you can play this twin track gem on either a twin track or a four track machine. Some would say the characteristic Beatles recordings of the time in mono sound sounds better and I would agree.
If you buy just one Beatles reel to reel, it has to be "Sgt Pepper". The recording has an aura and charisma to it, with its connotations to the "Summer of Love 1967", that few Beatles collectors would deny.....
