BEATLES y/b STEREO A HARD DAY’S NIGHT 1st Press CS 3058 1/1 matrix
On offer is a lovely EX/EX+ condition STEREO first pressing THE BEATLES LP entitled A HARD DAY’S NIGHT released in the UK in STEREO in 1964 on the yellow/ black PARLOPHONE label PARLOPHONE PCS 3058.
This is a lovely EX/EX+ condition STEREO first pressing with ‘THE PARLOPHONE CO. LTD.’ ‘RECORDING FIRST PUBLISHED 1964’ &‘SOLD IN U.K.’… label text which identifies it as a FIRST PRESS Stereo A HARD DAY’S NIGHT. Original Stereo copies are very hard to find in such nice condition as this.
· The disc is in very clean condition with a nice sheen to the vinyl and is visually in a lovely EX+ condition. Looks and plays really great!
· I have test played the LP for this auction and both sides of the disc plays EX with a full dynamic range on my hi-fi.
· Matrix numbers of the disc are: Side 1:XEX 126-1. Side 2: XEX 127-1.
· The label of the disc is in very nice condition on both sides with only a tiny bit of spindle wear visible on the label. The label has ‘THE PARLOPHONE CO. LTD.’ ‘RECORDING FIRST PUBLISHED 1964’& ‘SOLD IN U.K.’… text.
· The Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. flip-back sleeve is in very nice EX condition indeed. The back cover has a romantic inscription in ink: ‘To Pauline. From Terry With Love Christmas 1964’ and a small tear in the lower flip-back sleeve but this is not obtrusive and does not detract from the overall beauty of this STEREO LP. (Pauline clearly decided not to play this LP very often at all!)
· The LP cover also has a nice clean and firm spine as well. The LP has been kept stored in a plasticsleeve for the many years I have owned it. It is a beautifully clean LP sleeve with a nice sheen to the front cover.
· The LP has its original ‘USE EMITEX’ Parlophone inner – which is in fantastic condition – almost as new! Since I bought this LP many years ago I have kept the disc housed in a white inner (also supplied) to protect the original Parlophone inner.
To summarise this is a lovely STEREO first press A HARD DAY’S NIGHT LP from 1964. It has been really looked after over the years and as such is a beautiful example of this rare STEREO pressing that would grace any Beatles collection.
