Description
Up for auction is the true first US mono press of ‘Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band’ by The Beatles.
The album is complete with the original psychedelic inner sleeve and gimmick cut-out cardboard insert.
The first press is defined by:
1. The title of the song 'With a Little Help From My Friends'
shortened to 'A Little Help From My Friends'.
(from 'The Beatles Swan Song' by Bruce Spizer.)
2. The label is black with a color band around it, without "subsidiary" rim text.
Larger Artist & Title text.
Earlier mono pressing from 1967, thick title/artist print Jacksonville pressing,
identified by a "0" in the run-outs.
2. Side A label has "The Beatles" placed to the right, below the title.
"The Beatles" on side B is centered below the title.
3. "© NEMS ENTERPRISES, LTD,. 1967" appears on the bottom LEFT of the rear
of the cover, underneath the lyrics for "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds",
NOT on the right side between the cover credits and the Capitol Records credits.
Matrix / Runout (Side A runout; etched): MAS-1 2653 G7 0
Matrix / Runout (Side B runout; etched): MAS-1-2 2653 F8 #5 0
