Description
BEATLES UK – ‘A HARD DAYS NIGHT’, first press Mono LP, mispress sleeve.
PMC 1230 – original Black and Yellow Parlophone labels.
A UK album in 100% original condition featuring:
1. the sleeve does not have the regular glossy laminate, this sleeve has a ‘satin / matt’ finish to the laminate. Also the rear top flipback has not been laminated at all !. The quality control team at EMI should have stopped this sleeve from going out onto the public market !
2. side one has a crossed out ‘stamper’ as it reads ‘ A O R ’ but the ‘O’ has been crossed out !.
CONDITION:
THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in very good++ condition, the front is laminated, as mentioned above the laminate on the front of the sleeve has a mispressed ‘satin / matt’ finish !. The spine is in excellent+ condition and has remained very white in colour, all the text is clear to read. The rear of the sleeve has the period tri flipback design. There are NO splits, tears, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue. There are some light age marks to the rear and a small amount of pencil writing to the top right rear.
THE INNER SLEEVE: is in near excellent condition and is the original EMI ‘Use Emitex’ sleeve. There are NO tears, splits, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue. There is some light age marks.
THE VINYL: side one is in excellent++ condition, it is very difficult to see any marks at all on this side, side two is in excellent+ condition, the record looks hardly played. It is very clean, dark and glossy. The vinyl is made from thick, heavy vinyl.
The matrix nos. are: XEX 481 – 3N and XEX 482 – 3N,
The Mother/Stampers are: ‘ 2 A O R ’ but the letter ‘O’ has been crossed out ! and ‘ 4 G P ’.
THE AUDIO: is excellent, it plays near perfect, the vinyl lays flat on the turntable and plays well without any sticking or jumps from the needle.
THE LABELS: side one is in near MINT condition, side two is in excellent+ condition, again very little signs of play. The letters ‘K T’ are embossed around the spindle hole on side one. The labels are free from pen writing, stickers and sticker residue.
