BEATLES UK – Abbey Road LP, very first issue, misaligned apple logo sleeve.

1969 PCS 7088 - Apple record labels.

A UK very first issue album in original condition, featuring:

1. a Misaligned APPLE logo mispress on the rear of the sleeve,

2. on side two of the record label the track ‘Her Majesty’ is not printed nor is it printed on the rear of the sleeve, but the track DOES play on the record !

3. the record label on side two has been mis printed, as it shows an unusual yellow line that appears to the outer, left side edge of the white side of the apple, see photo.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in very good++ condition, the sleeve is laminated front and rear. The original ‘thin’ spine is in very god++ condition and all the text on the spine is readable. As this is a very first issue of this album, September 1969, it features the Apple logo on the rear of the sleeve misaligned, to the left !. EMI were quick to correct this and very soon the sleeves were changed and the Apple logo was correctly aligned with the song listing. There are NO stains, pen writing, splits, tears, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve. There are two small ‘nicks’ to the front side (only) opening edge.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in very good++ condition and is the original period plain white EMI sleeve, with the text ‘Patent Nos 112,5555’. A very clean sleeve for its age. Theres NO pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve. To the top front left there is a 10mm tear and an edge split to one of the sides and some slight age related marks here and there.

THE VINYL: is in very good++ condition. The vinyl is made from the period thick, heavy vinyl. It has remained dark and glossy.

The matrix are:  YEX 749 - 2  and  YEX  750 - 1,

The mother/stampers are:  ‘ 1  O D A ’  and  ‘ 4  A T T ’,

THE AUDIO: side one plays excellent, on side two on the intro to track one there is some light ‘dusty crackle, static’ that soon clears to give an excellent audio. An excellent playing copy. The record lays flat on the turntable.

THE LABELS: are in excellent condition. As this is a very first issue side one shows a DARK green Apple colour. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

PACKING  -  ALL RECORDS ARE POSTED WITH MULTI LAYERED CARD STIFFENERS FOR PROTECTION.BEFORE POSTING, THE RECORD IS REMOVED FROM THE RECORDS ORIGINAL INNER AND OUTER SLEEVES, THE RECORD IS THEN PUT INTO A SECOND PAPER INNER SLEEVE TO MINIMISE ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE IN TRANSIT. THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
