original 1963 UK Gold Print on Black background Parlophone PMC 1202 Mono LP
Label Details:- First issue, with 'Dick James' publishing credits on six of the eight Lennon-McCartney songs............
Both labels have very light use only, the Gold print is very clear and bright. Side two label has the embossed 'K-T' tax code............Both labels graded at EXCELLENT condition.
RUN-OFF GROOVE information:-
Side One:- Matrix XEX 421-1N.........9-o-clock position '1'............3-o-clock position 'GR'
Side Two:- Matrix XEX 422-1N.........9-o-clock '1'.........3-o-clock 'GD'
Both sides of the disc have light use only, just a few marks......I have played the album through, and apart from a little noise at the intro to ' Do You Want To Know A Secret', the sound quality is really outstanding.........Carefully graded at NEAR EXCELLENT condition.
The First Issue EJ Day sleeve has light use only, with a little mild creasing on the front, very clean on rear, with a little flipback creasing to bottom right-hand corner.......Carefully graded at VERY GOOD/NEAR EXCELLENT condition. Complete with correct polylined Emitex liner sleeve (Excellent condition).
I only recently purchased this album, and found tucked away in the sleeve a UK CONCERT FLYER FOR THE BEATLES 13th MARCH 1963 SHOW , SUPPORTING CHRIS MONTEZ & TOMMY ROE AT THE RIALTO THEATRE - YORK.........which has some folding wear, and has a little damage area near the bottom edge............and some fading.........but overall GOOD/NEAR VERY GOOD condition. Absolutely great piece of memorabilia..........

The Beatles: George Harrison (vocals, guitar); John Lennon (vocals, guitar, harmonica); Paul McCartney (vocals, bass); Ringo Starr (vocals, drums). Recorded at Abbey Road Studios, London, England. "Love Me Do" and "P.S. I Love You" were recorded in September 1962. The other 12 tracks were recorded on February 11, 1963 ("Twist And Shout" was the last song to be recorded). Includes liner notes by Tony Barrow
Here were four lads, highly experienced on stage, but with little or no idea of what a recording studio was like. They were subtly marshalled by the much-respected George Martin to deliver an entire album that was exactly what the fans wanted, but was still a surprise. Things were never as simple as this again, yet the genius is there. Examples are Lennon's unmatchable rasping on "Twist And Shout," McCartney's graceful ease in singing "I Saw Her Standing There," Harrison's sparse but definite Gretsch chords, and Starr's ace vocal on "Boys."
All items carefully graded audio-visually, and are played on a high quality system.
Please feel able to bid with confidence, as a collector myself I realize the requirements in the gradings of sleeves and discs, and how important it is to receive items in the condition as advertised in listings………I have been a lifelong music fan, my first concert visit was in 1957 (Birmingham Town Hall Skiffle Contest!) and have bought records of all the great music since 1959, and had the privilege of seeing most of the great artists live (I saw The Beatles twice….)
In 2003 I cleared a distribution warehouse in Droitwich West Midlands, which stocked vinyl from 1953 - 1991 which had been closed for many years. I am at present looking through around 11,000 LP’s, EP’s and 7” 45’s………which I will be adding to my eBay list…….
