Description
BEATLES UK – HELP LP, unusual thinner/lighter vinyl, original mono.
PMC 1255 – original black and yellow Parlophone labels.
A UK 1965 first issue mono copy in original condition, featuring:
Although this may appear to be a regular UK first press mono issue from 1965, on closer inspection the record is, I would say 30% thinner than a regular copy and therefore not surprisingly I would say it feels as if it is 50% lighter in weight than a regular copy. The records mother/stampers, are regular period EMI so it is not a Decca ‘contract’ pressing, so the records origins are a mystery !.
CONDITION:
THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in near excellent condition, the front is laminated. The spine is very good++ condition and all the text is clear to read. The sleeve has remained very clean for its age. Theres NO pen writing, tears, splits, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.
THE INNER SLEEVE: is in excellent++ condition and is the original ‘Use Emitex’ sleeve. A really excellent and well preserved sleeve in near perfect condition. It has remained very clean, white and fresh for its age. Theres NO pen writing, tears, stains, splits, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.
THE RECORD: is in near MINT condition, when viewing the record under normal daylight conditions. It has remained very dark and glossy and looks almost like new.
The matrix are: XEX 549 – 2 and XEX 550 – 2,
The mother/stampers are: ‘5 A T O’ and ‘ 1 8 R T D’,
THE AUDIO: is excellent, it plays with excellent quiet grooves, an excellent playing copy. It plays with a glorious, full, loud period mono sound. The record lays flat on the turntable.
THE LABELS: are in near MINT condition. The letters ‘K T’ are embossed around the spindle hole on side one. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.
