BEATLES UK – Please Please Me LP, Mono fourth press, MTK code.

PMC 1202 – Mono black and yellow Parlophone labels.

A UK album in original condition, featuring:

1. side two of the record label has an unusual ‘M T K’ tax code embossed onto it,

2. most of these large Mono flipback sleeves were made by the company ‘E J Day’, but this sleeve is made by the company ‘Garrod and Lofthouse’.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in near excellent condition, the front is laminated. The spine is in excellent condition and all the text is clear to read. The rear of the sleeve has remained clean for its age. The rear of the sleeve has the period tri flipback design. There are NO splits, tears, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in excellent condition and is the original ‘Use Emitex’ sleeve. An excellent clean, white sleeve for its age. There are NO stains, splits, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue. There is a small tear, 20mm, around the ‘die cut hole’ on one side of the sleeve.

THE VINYL: side one is in near excellent condition, side two is in very good++ condition. The vinyl has remained very dark and glossy and is made from the period, thick, heavy vinyl.

The matrix are:  XEX  421 – 1N  and  XEX  422 – 1N,

The Mother / Stampers are:  ‘ 2    T R ’ with a crossed out  letter ‘ K ’  and  ‘ 4   T F ’,   the letter ‘ T ’ has been doubled stamped !.

THE AUDIO: side one is excellent, side two plays very good, side two plays with some light crackle and I did hear a light ‘tick’ at the end of track four and onto the beginning of track five that lasted for about one minute each. The vinyl lays flat on the turntable.

THE LABELS: are in excellent condition, the letters ‘M T K’ are embossed around the spindle hole on side two. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

TO GRADE THE CONDITION OF THE RECORD I AM USING THE OFFICIAL GRADING SYSTEM FROM THE ‘RECORD COLLECTOR’ MAGAZINE.

PACKING  -  ALL RECORDS ARE POSTED WITH MULTI LAYERED CARD STIFFENERS FOR PROTECTION.BEFORE POSTING, THE RECORD IS REMOVED FROM THE RECORDS ORIGINAL INNER AND OUTER SLEEVES, THE RECORD IS THEN PUT INTO A SECOND PAPER INNER SLEEVE TO MINIMISE ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE IN TRANSIT. THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
