BEATLES UK – Revolver, rare ridged labels, original 1966 mono.

PMC 7009 - original 1966 mono yellow and black Parlophone labels.

A UK album in original condition, featuring:

1. it is thought that these hard to find ‘ridged’ labels were produced from a ‘rogue’ pressing machine re-employed at the EMI factory. The ‘ridges’ themselves are curious, as the ridge on side one is more ‘shallow’, but the ridge on side two is more ‘pronounced’,

2. the records mother/stampers are regular EMI,

3. comes with a more unusual sleeve, made by ‘E J Day’,

4. comes with its original period 1966 black and white EMI advertising sleeve.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in very good+ condition, the front of the sleeve is laminated. The spine is in very good++ condition and all the text on the spine is clear to read. The two opening edges of the sleeve have remained clean for their age. The sleeve is made by ‘E J Day’. The rear of the sleeve features the original 1960s period style ‘tri flip back’ design. There are NO tears, splits, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve. On the rear, top ‘flip back’, to the right, there is a name written in blue pen.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in very good++ condition and is the original period EMI black and white advertising inner sleeve. The two opening edges have remained clean for their age, overall a very clean sleeve for its age. There are NO tears, splits, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue to the sleeve.

THE RECORD: side one is in very good++ condition, side one would have been graded higher but for some isolated marks here and there. Side two is in excellent condition. The record is made from the period 1960s ‘thick, heavy’ vinyl. The record has remained very dark and glossy.

The matrix are: XEX 605 - 2 and XEX 606 – 2,

The mother / stampers are: ‘4 L T’ and ‘2 P’.

THE AUDIO: is excellent, side one plays with some light ‘ticks’ heard here and there but in general side one plays with excellent quiet grooves. Side two also plays excellent and it to plays with excellent quiet grooves. The record plays with an excellent loud, clear, full period mono sound. The record lays flat on the turntable.

THE LABELS: are in very good+ condition. The letters ‘K T’ are embossed around the spindle hole on side two. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

BEFORE POSTING, THE RECORD IS REMOVED FROM THE RECORDS ORIGINAL INNER AND OUTER SLEEVES, THE RECORD IS THEN PUT INTO A SECOND PAPER INNER SLEEVE TO MINIMISE ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE IN TRANSIT. THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
