Description
BEATLES UK – Rubber Soul, loud cut & Abbey Road, original LPs.
Rubber Soul, first UK issue mono ‘loud cut’ 1 / 1 matrix.
PMC 1267 - original 1965 mono UK yellow & black Parlophone labels.
A UK album in original condition, featuring:
A very first UK mono issue of this LP with the 1 / 1 matrix, now affectionately referred to as the ‘loud cut’. Upon its first release in the UK back in December 1965 attempts were made to withdraw these very first issue mono lps as the Beatles record producer was not satisfied with the overall sound balance. These very first issues with the 1 / 1 mono matrix were quickly replaced by the more familiar 4 / 4 mono matrix records.
CONDITION:
THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in near very good condition, the front of the sleeve is laminated. The spine is in very good condition and all of the text on the spine is clear to read. The rear of the sleeve features a tri flipback design. There are NO tears, splits, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve. The front and rear opening edges have some old cellotape residue to them and to the rear, top there is some black pen. There is some slight ‘scuffing’ to the rear, over some of the song listing details and some light age related marks on the rear of the sleeve.
THE INNER SLEEVE: is in excellent condition and is the original ‘Use Emitex’ sleeve. The two opening edges have remained clean and unworn. Theres NO pen writing, tears, splits, stains, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.
THE RECORD: is in good++ condition, the record would have been graded much higher but for some isolated ‘marks’ here and there as the record has remained very dark and glossy and doesn’t look as if it has been played much. The record is made from the original 1960s period ‘thick, heavy’ vinyl.
The matrix are: XEX 579 - 1 and XEX 580 – 1, an original, very first UK mono issue, ‘loud cut’,
The mother / stampers are: ‘ 4 L O ’ and ‘ 2 P L ’.
THE AUDIO: is very good, it plays with relatively quiet grooves, but does play with some light ‘ticks’ and ‘pops’ heard here and there. The record lays flat on the turntable.
THE LABELS: are in excellent condition. There are the letters ‘K T’ embossed around the spindle hole on side one. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.
and
Abbey Road LP – an early original issue.
PCS 7088 – original 1969 Apple record labels.
An early UK issue in original condition, featuring:
1. there is NO mention of the track ‘Her Majesty’ on the record label on side two, nor on the sleeve, but the track DOES play on the record !,
2. the sleeve appears to be a factory mis press, as there is some colour loss to the front opening edge and to the rear spine edge. This should have been spotted by the EMI quality control department. This colour loss is not consistent with any ‘sun’ fading etc,
3. on side one of the record there is an early set of mother / stampers, they are: ‘1 R A ’.
CONDITION:
THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in excellent condition. The sleeve is fully laminated. This laminate has remained very glossy. The laminate has remained relatively free from any ‘scuffing’ or ‘indentations’. The sleeve has retained its excellent fresh vivid colours. The four corners of the sleeve have remained clean and sharp for their age. The original ‘thin’ spine is in very good++ condition, it has some ‘rubbing’ wear to the middle of the spine, with some loss of the laminate, but the spine is solid and all the text on the spine is clear to read. Theres NO pen writing, splits, tears, stains, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve. There is a small ‘nick’ to the front opening edge.
THE INNER SLEEVE: is in excellent condition and is the original period EMI plain white inner sleeve with the text, ‘Patent no. 1,125,555. An excellent fresh clean, well preserved inner sleeve with excellent clean, unworn opening edges. Theres NO pen writing, splits, tears, stains, stickers or sticker residue.
THE RECORD: is in near very good condition. The record is made from the period 1960s ‘thick, heavy vinyl’. The record has remained very dark and glossy.
The matrix is: YEX 749 - 2 and YEX 750 - 1,
The mother / stampers are : very early: ‘1 R A ’ and ‘9 H L’.
THE AUDIO: is very good, it plays with relatively quiet grooves, but I did hear some light ‘ticks’ and ‘pops’ here and there. The record lays flat on the turntable.
THE LABELS: are in near MINT condition. As this is a very early issue, side one shows a DARK green Apple colour. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.
