BEATLES UK – Rubber Soul, one EMI box, rare ridged and textured labels.

PCS 3075 – circa 1970, one box black and silver Parlophone labels.

A very unusual UK Stereo copy in original condition, featuring:

1.   I have never seen labels like this before, as there is on each side a ridge, 10mm in from the outer edge of the record label. Also the labels in appearance have a textured, ‘rougher’ look to them !. These labels  are usually completely smooth in finish,

2. each label has the text, ‘Made in Gt. Britain’ and ‘The Gramophone’ etc text around the labels rim,

3. also very unusual is that there are NO ‘stampers’, engraved onto the vinyl ie, at the three o’clock position,

4. the matrix and ‘mothers’ that are engraved onto the record are identical to that of a UK EMI copy in appearance and in the ‘way’ they have been engraved,

5. the text on the labels, ‘EMI’ and ‘Parlophone’ are printed in a yellow colour and not the standard silver colour !,

6. the front sleeve photo has a curious ‘blue’ hue colour to it, rather than the unusual green colour !.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in excellent++ to near MINT condition, the sleeve is laminated on the front. The sleeve has retained its near MINT four sharp corners. The two opening edges of the sleeve have remained crisp and sharp. The sleeve to the rear has remained an excellent brilliant clean, fresh white in colour. The spine is in near MINT condition and all of the text on the spine is clear to read. There are NO splits, tears, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in excellent condition and is the original plain white EMI sleeve with the text, ‘Patent No 1,125,555’ and ‘Made in England’. An excellent well preserved sleeve. Theres NO tears, stains, stickers or sticker residue. There is a slight split to one of the side edges and on the reverse of the sleeve, top, right corner there is some small blue pen writing that says ‘NE 494’.

THE VINYL: side one is in excellent++ and has retained that ‘new’ look, side two is in near MINT condition, when seen under normal daylight conditions. It is made of the period ‘thick, heavy’ vinyl. The record has a brand new look to it, it has remained very dark and glossy, possibly only played twice  !.

The Matrix are:   YEX  178 - 3    and    YEX  179 - 3,

The mother / stampers are: ‘ 3     ? ’ and  ‘ 3     ? ’, as mentioned there are NO ‘stampers’ engraved onto the vinyl !,

THE AUDIO: is excellent, on just a small area of the outside edge of the record, there is some slight ‘rippling’, this does not seen to affect the audio. Otherwise the record lays flat on the turntable.

THE LABELS: are in excellent condition, a possible one or two plays !. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

PACKING  -  ALL RECORDS ARE POSTED WITH MULTI LAYERED CARD STIFFENERS FOR PROTECTION.BEFORE POSTING, THE RECORD IS REMOVED FROM THE RECORDS ORIGINAL INNER AND OUTER SLEEVES, THE RECORD IS THEN PUT INTO A SECOND PAPER INNER SLEEVE TO MINIMISE ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE IN TRANSIT. THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
