BEATLES UK – ‘Sgt Pepper’ original Mono, mispress label.

PMC 7027 – black and yellow Parlophone labels.

A UK album in 100% original condition featuring:

1.  a hard to find mispress copy as the record label on side two, the track ‘A day in the life’ has NOT been printed on the label !. It is hard to see how this could have happened at the EMI printing factory. The track at  the time was banned by the BBC in England, maybe for a short while it was that fact why the track was left off the label.  The reference to the track was never removed from the sleeve so that theory seems unlikely !.

2. the main sleeve is unusual as it has an additional line of text that appears at the bottom, rear right corner that states  ‘Patents Pending’.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in near very good condition, it is fully laminated. The spine is in very good+ condition and has remained a good clean white, all the text on the spine is clear to read, see photo. There are NO splits, tears, stains, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve. There are some signs of ‘nibbling’ at the corners where the record goes into the sleeve. 

THE INSERT: the original DARK green card insert is present and is in good condition. Theres NO pen writing, tears, stains, stickers or sticker residue. One of the ‘badges’ has  been cut out and there are some signs of ‘nibbling’ to two of the corners.  

THE VINYL: side one is in excellent condition, side two is in near excellent condition, it has remained very dark and glossy. The vinyl is made from the period thick, heavy vinyl.

The matrix  nos. are:  XEX  637 – 1  and  XEX  638 - 1,  

The Mother/Stampers are:  ‘ 2   M A O  ’  and   ‘ 1 9    M M T ’.

THE AUDIO: is excellent and plays with hardly any ‘crackle’. It plays with excellent quiet intros and even the exit to the track ‘A Day in the Life’ is virtually crackle free. The vinyl lays flat on the turntable and plays well without any sticking or jumps from the needle.

THE LABELS: side one is in near excellent condition, side two is in very good++ condition. Side one has an additional ‘dot’ on the text ‘Sold in UK’ etc ie it reads  ‘Sold in .U.K.’ etc. There are NO letters embossed around the spindle holes. On side two, see photo there is a label with a name on.  Each side of the labels within the yellow ‘pound’ sign there is a small discreet name written in pen.

BEFORE POSTING, THE RECORD IS REMOVED FROM THE RECORDS ORIGINAL INNER AND OUTER SLEEVES, THE RECORD IS THEN PUT INTO A SECOND PAPER INNER SLEEVE TO MINIMISE ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE IN TRANSIT. THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
