Description

BEATLES UK – WHITE ALBUM, ORIGINAL MONO.

1968 PMC 7067/7068 -  APPLE RECORD LABEL.

A UK FIRST EDITION TOP LOADING MONO PRESSING WITH A UNIQUE SERIAL NUMBER OF ‘0120576’.

CONDITION:

MAIN SLEEVE:  the double album gatefold sleeve is in near excellent condition, there is  however a scratch to the laminate on the front of the sleeve near  to the top of the opening edge.  The  sleeve is very clean sleeve and has a really  lovely shiny laminate.   On the front it has a raised Beatles logo and the unique individual SERIAL Number of 0120576, this number appears clear and bold.  There is no  text printed on the rear of the sleeve proving this to be a genuine MONO sleeve. The records are accessed from the top.  The spine is in really excellent++  condition,  the best I have seen,  all the text is  clear,  it  is very clean and white and there is NOT even any  flaky  laminate !.    The spine is  also  the more unusual  narrow spine, in width, it measures only 5mm and it is   NOT   squashed !,     most of these sleeves   on average had a spine width of   8mm.  The sleeve features visible flipbacks when the sleeve is opened, these flipbacks are all excellent and well stuck down.  When the sleeve is opened is it  white, clean and tidy.  There are NO  stains or Biro pen writing on the sleeve.

INNER SLEEVES: are the two original black inners and have NOT been  replaced.  Both sleeves  I would grade as being in very good++ condition,  the sleeves have NO edge wear,  there are some  small tears to  One side of the top  opening edges.

POSTER: is in near excellent condition,  the poster is very white and clean,  there  is NO sellotape residue,  pin hole damage or blue tack residue.   There is NO actual  wear to  the poster,  there are some  ‘ finger marks’  on the  poster.

PHOTOS: are in near excellent condition,  the photos are made from the original thick card.   The rear of the photos are fresh and white with NO sellotape residue,  pin hole damage or Blue tack residue.

VINYL:  side One is in very good++ condition.   Side Two, Three and Four are in near excellent condition, the Two records are made of the original ‘thick and heavy’ vinyl and are dark and very shiny.   The matrix nos. are XEX 709-1, XEX 710-1, XEX 711-1 and XEX 712-1. The Mother/Stampers are:               ‘  6   M M ’,   ‘ 2  6    G R A’,   ‘ 3    G G A’ and  ‘ 4   A R’.

AUDIO:  is excellent,  on the  song,   ‘Piggies’  there is  a light  ‘tick’  that can be heard for about    One minute.       Both the records lay flat on the turntable and play  well with NO skips, pops or  jumps.

THE LABELS:  are all in near excellent condition and show NO Biro writing or sticker residue etc.   The labels feature the original DARK green Apple colours.  All Four Labels have the text  ‘An EMI recording’,   all the labels show the text  ‘Sold in the UK’  etc.  The George and Ringo songs are listed as  ‘Apple Publishing’.

***************

Unfortunately as you will see from my feedback,   I have received One negative feedback recently.   This is due to the fact that I followed Ebay policy and reported  an Ebay member for non payment and in turn I have received this feedback !, while this Ebay member carries on trading unaffected !,    I am disgusted that Ebay has let this happen !

To fairly grade the condition of the record, I am using the official grading system from the Record Collector Magazine.

Grading System

The seven standard condition categories and a description of what each one means are listed below:

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

+  or  – :  indicates a grading in between categories.
