BEATLES UK – WHITE ALBUM, RARE 10mm wide spine STEREO.

1968 PCS  7067 / 7068 -  APPLE RECORD LABEL.

A UK first edition top loading stereo pressing with a unique serial number of  ‘ 0507738 ’.   

The record labels on side One and Two DO NOT  have the  text  ‘ An EMI recording ’,   but   oddly on sides  Three an Four of the record labels  the text    ‘ An EMI recording’    DOES appear,   how odd !.

The width of the spine measures at its widest point  10mm, the  spine widths  of these first press sleeves are normally  between  5 to 8mm in width.

Each of the White sides of the  labels ie side Two and Four feature  a  more prominent  ‘brown apple core’ detail.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE:  the double album gatefold sleeve is in very good++ condition. It has remained very White in colour over the years,  the four opening edges of the sleeve are  all in very good condition.   On the front it has  an  embossed Beatles logo and a unique individual SERIAL Number of   0507738,    this number appears clear and bold.  To the rear there is the word  ‘Stereo’  printed discretely proving this to be a genuine STEREO sleeve.    The records are accessed from the top.    The spine is in very good condition, there is some light laminate loss to the spine but  all the text is  clear.   The spine  width measures 10mm at its widest point, making it an unusual  WIDE SPINE !.    The sleeve features visible flipbacks when the sleeve is opened, these flipbacks are all excellent and well stuck down.  When the sleeve is opened it is very white, clean and tidy.  There are NO tears,  stains on the sleeve.     A very clean and well preserved sleeve for its age.

THE INNER SLEEVES:  the original inner sleeves  are not included, the LP comes with Two new white replacements.

THE POSTER:  the original poster is not included in the sale.

THE PHOTOS: the original  photos are  not included in the sale.

THE VINYL:  side One is in excellent condition, side Two is in near excellent condition,    record Two, side Three is in  excellent+ condition and looks like NEW !     and  side Four is in very good++ condition.     The vinyl  has obviously seen very  little play,   the two records are made of the original ‘thick and heavy’ vinyl and are very dark and  very shiny.  

The matrix nos. are:   YEX  709 - 1,  YEX  710 - 1,   YEX  711 - 1 and  YEX 712 - 1.    

The Mother/Stampers are:   ‘ 2    M ’,   ‘ 2   M ’,   ‘ 6 H H  ’ and  ‘ 6    R  T ’.   

THE AUDIO:  is excellent,  this is the best playback audio   I have  heard with little to spoil the listening pleasure.    Each of the records lay flat on the turntable and play  well without the needle sticking or jumping.

THE LABELS:  are in near excellent condition,  the labels feature the original DARK green Apple colours.     Labels One and Two DO NOT have the text  ‘An EMI recording’,  while  labels Three and Four, this text is present !, all the labels show  ‘Sold in the UK’ etc text,  the George and Ringo songs are listed as  ‘Apple Publishing’.      The  White side of the labels  feature a more  prominent  ‘ Brown apple  core’ detail.    On each of  the White  apple sides, ie  sides Two and Four  there is  a name written in black  Pen.
