BEATLES UK - WITH THE BEATLES, rare ‘KPTM’ code MONO.

1963 PMC 1206 - Yellow and Black Parlophone Label.

A UK Mono album in 100% original condition, a very early pressing with the 1 / 1 matrix and with an excellent audio.

These early copies of ‘With the Beatles’ are very collectable not only because the music is so good but as a result of EMI trying to meet the huge demand for this record a number of errors and irregularities were made during manufacturing in late 1963:

1. On side Two there is a very unusual tax code embossed around the spindle hole on the label, see photo, it reads ‘ K P T M ’ !

2. On the record label side Two, on the publishing credit for the track, ‘ You really got a hold on me’ there is a misprint of the abbreviation ‘ NCB ’ as it reads ‘ NOB ’ !

3. The sleeve has a mis-cut bottom flipback, ie the bottom left section of the flipback is deeper and therefore the bottom flipback ‘tapers’ to the right where it finishes to the normal depth !.

4. The rear of the sleeve spells the song title as ‘You really gotta hold on me’, but on the record label this song title is spelt ‘You really got a hold on me’ !.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in very good++ condition, the front of the sleeve is laminated, there is a large black ‘solid’ Mono on the front. It features a tri flipback design to the rear, all the flipbacks are very good and well glued down. The spine is in near excellent condition and is White in colour and all the text is readable. The unlaminated rear of the sleeve has remained clean and white for its age, there is NO Pen writing. A very solid and original sleeve. The sleeve features the incorrect spelling of the song title ‘You really Gotta hold on me’ !

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in very good+ condition and is the original poly lined ‘ Use Emitex ’ sleeve, it is very clean and white for its age. There are NO stains or Pen writing.

THE VINYL: is in near excellent condition, the vinyl is made from the period thick, heavy vinyl, it is very dark and has a high gloss.

The Matrix nos. are: XEX 447 – 1 N and XEX 448 – 1 N,

The Mother / Stampers are: ‘ 7 R T A ’ and ‘ 1 O R L P ’.

THE AUDIO: is excellent, a very nice playing copy, it lays flat on the turntable and plays with NO jumps or skips from the needle.

THE LABELS: side One is in excellent+ condition, side Two in very good+ condition. As mentioned there are the very unusual letters ‘ K P T M ’ embossed on side Two of the label. The song on side Two, track Three is spelt ‘ You really got a hold on me ’. The publishing credit for the song ‘Money’ is shown as ‘Dominion Belinda’.
