Description
BEATLES UK - WITH THE BEATLES, early Stereo - mispress.
1963 PCS 3045 - Yellow and Black Parlophone Label.
An early UK Stereo copy in 100% original condition. Featuring a very unusual misaligned ‘Stereo’ logo on the front of the sleeve. It is amazing that this sleeve ever got pass EMIs quality control. The Stereo logo should be tucked neatly into the front top hand corner but on this sleeve it is ‘floating’ some way across and down from where it should be !. But the sleeve is even more curious, see photo there is an imprint of the word Stereo, again misaligned but this time in a different misaligned position ! then most curious of all, the Stereo logo is printed ONTO the laminate and NOT underneath it !. Interesting the think that all this extra work that went into finishing this sleeve at the printers, WHY did EMI not just throw this sleeve away ? maybe that was the intention but somehow this sleeve ‘got out’ into the public market !.
The sleeve has Two more mistakes on it :
The rear of the sleeve has the spelling, ‘You really gotta a hold on me’, but the record labels spell this song title as ‘You really got a hold on me’ !.
The rear of the sleeve has the spelling ‘Willson’ (Two ‘ l’ s’) for the writers credit for the song ‘Till there was you’ but the record label spells this credit as ‘Wilson’ (with One ‘l’) !
The record labels look odd as the text ‘ the Beatles’ is written in a very small text size, this text normally appears as a larger text to the songs listing on the labels !.
CONDITION:
MAIN SLEEVE: is in excellent condition, the front of the sleeve is laminated, and as mentioned it has a curious ‘misaligned Stereo logo. It features a tri flipback design to the rear, all the flipbacks are well stuck down. The spine is very good and all the text is readable. The unlaminated rear of the sleeve is very clean and white, there is NO pen writing or tears. A very solid and original sleeve, the sleeve features the incorrected spelling of the song title ‘Gotta’, for the track, ‘You really Got a hold on me’ ! this should have been spelt ‘Got a’ as it does on the record label !, Also the song writers credit for ‘Till there was you’ is spelt ‘Willson’ but on the record label it appears as ‘Wilson’ ! There is an area of light staining on the rear of the sleeve.
INNER SLEEVE: is in near excellent condition and is the original EMI red and white period advertising sleeve, it is very white and clean for its age, a very well preserved sleeve, with No pen or stains on.
VINYL: side One is in excellent+ condition, side Two is in excellent++ condition, the vinyl is made from the period sixties ‘thick, heavy’ vinyl, it is very dark and glossy. The Matrix nos. are: YEX 110 – 2 and YEX 111 – 2, the Mother/Stampers are: ‘ 2 R P ’ and ‘ 2 M R ’.
AUDIO: is excellent, it plays really well all the way through, it lays flat on the turntable and plays with NO sticking or jumps. It plays with a powerful period Stereo sound, there is little to spoil the excellent audio listening pleasure.
THE LABELS: are in excellent+ condition, the labels show the song ‘ You really got a hold on me’. The publishing credit for the song ‘Money’ is shown as ‘Dominion’ etc. The labels show the text ‘The Beatles ‘ in a very small text, this text normally appears on the labels in a larger text size !.

Unfortunately as you will see from my feedback, I have received One negative feedback recently. This is due to the fact that I followed Ebay policy and reported an Ebay member for non payment and in turn I have received this feedback !, while this Ebay member carries on trading unaffected !, I am disgusted that Ebay has let this happen !

To fairly grade the condition of the record, I am using the official grading system from the Record Collector Magazine.
Grading System
The seven standard condition categories and a description of what each one means are listed below:
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
+ or – : indicates a grading in between categories.
