BEATLES UK – With the Beatles LP, rare sleeve and unusual 5 / 6 matrix.

PMC 1206 – Mono black and yellow Parlophone labels.

A UK album in original condition, featuring:

1. the main sleeve shows the earlier, darker and grainy photo. Later sleeves were lighter and the photo image was clearer. The sleeve has a curious mis press as on first appearance the mono logo on the front of the sleeve appears in a different position than normal. On closer inspection you can see and feel that the printed mono logo on the front has actually been printed ONTO the laminate and not underneath it as was the norm !. Curious, as the sleeve never got its mono logo through the regular printing process, rather than the printers discarding the sleeve, a mono logo was ‘inked in’ afterwards !, but onto the laminate surface of the sleeve !, 

2. a very unusual, 5 / 6 matrix, the matrix numbers are normally configured as 1, 1 or 2, 2 etc but this record has a 5 / 6 matrix,

3. side one of the record label has a more unusual ‘M T’ tax code embossed onto it, suggesting this was an earlier rather than a later record to be pressed,

4. the rear of the sleeve has the spelling of ‘gotta a’ but on the record label it is spelt ‘got a’ for the track ‘You really got a hold on me’ !.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in near excellent condition, the front has an excellent glossy laminate. The rear for the sleeve has remained clean for its age. The spine is in near excellent condition and has remained a good fresh white in colour, all the text on the spine is clear to read. The rear of the sleeve has the period tri flipback design. A well preserved sleeve for its age. There are NO tears, splits, stains, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve. There is a 25mm long pen mark on the rear.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in near excellent condition and is the original ‘Use Emitex’ sleeve. Theres NO pen writing, tears, splits, stains, stickers or sticker residue to the sleeve. There is some slight fraying to one side of the opening edge.

THE VINYL: side one is in near MINT condition with just a couple of very light non audible marks. Side two is also in near MINT condition, in fact under normal daylight conditions I cannot see any marks at all on the playing surface, looks like new, a possible one or two plays !.  The vinyl has remained very dark and glossy, like new and is made from the period, thick, heavy vinyl.

The matrix are:  XEX  447 – 5 N  and  XEX  448 – 6 N, an unusual combination.

The Mother / Stampers are:  ‘2  G M ’ and   ‘2  H ’.

THE AUDIO: is excellent++, a near perfect audio that plays with virtually no crackle, the vinyl lays flat on the turntable.

THE LABELS: side on is in near MINT condition, side two is in excellent++ condition, a possible one or two plays ?, the letters ‘M T’ are embossed around the spindle hole on side one. The songs publishing credit for the track ‘Money’ is ‘Dominion / Belinda’, The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

PACKING  -  ALL RECORDS ARE POSTED WITH MULTI LAYERED CARD STIFFENERS FOR PROTECTION.BEFORE POSTING, THE RECORD IS REMOVED FROM THE RECORDS ORIGINAL INNER AND OUTER SLEEVES, THE RECORD IS THEN PUT INTO A SECOND PAPER INNER SLEEVE TO MINIMISE ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE IN TRANSIT. THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
