PCS 3045, original UK 1963 Black and Yellow Parlophone record labels.

A UK stereo copy in original condition, featuring:

1. the sleeve features the earliest printed, darkest / shadow front sleeve image. The printers at EMI soon realised that the photo image of the earliest printed sleeves was too dark so efforts were made to re print the sleeve with a much ‘lighter’ photo image,

2. another unique feature of this very early sleeve is that the ‘stereo logo’ on the front has been printed onto the laminate and not underneath it !,

3. on side two of the record label, track seven, the publishing credit features the more unusual credits of, ‘Dominion, Belinda (Ldn) Ltd NCB’,

4. side two of the record is very unusual as theres no, ‘mother’ engraved onto the ‘run off’ groove,

5. side two, track three, the record label features the spelling of ‘Got a’, but on the rear of the sleeve it is spelt, as ‘Gotta’, for the track, ‘You really got a hold on me’,

6. comes with its original EMI, ‘Use Emitex’ inner sleeve.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in good++ condition, the front of the sleeve is laminated. The spine is in very good condition and all of the text on the spine is clear to read. The rear of the sleeve features the original 1960s tri - ‘flipback’ design, ie ‘fold over’ edges. On the rear of the sleeve there is a name written, to the top left corner in blue pen. There is a neat repair to the front, centre opening edge as it looks like a piece of the sleeves opening edge was missing. There is some cellotape to each of the opening edges and a piece of cellotape on the rear top, right corner and a ‘water mark’ to the rear, top left opening edge.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in good++ condition and is the original EMI ‘Use Emitex’ inner sleeve. On one side there is a 10mm tear around the ‘die cut hole’ and some blue pen writing on one side, top centre middle and a split to the bottom edge and a split to the two side edges.

THE RECORD: side one is in excellent condition, side two in in very good++ condition. The record is made from the period, quality 1960s thick, heavy vinyl. The record has remained very dark and glossy.

The matrix are: YEX 110 - 2 and YEX 111 – 2,

The mother / stampers are: ‘2 H’ and ‘? GD’, unusual as theres no ‘mother’ engraved onto side two,

THE AUDIO: each side plays excellent+. The record plays with a full powerful period stereo sound.

THE RECORD LABELS: side one is in very good++ condition, side one has a small name written in black pen, but this is written within the black area of the label so it hardly notices. Side two is in very good condition. Each of the record labels are free from any stickers or any sticker residue.

TO GRADE THE CONDITION OF THE RECORD I AM USING THE OFFICIAL GRADING SYSTEM FROM THE ‘RECORD COLLECTOR’ MAGAZINE.
