BEATLES UK – original first press ‘White Album’ in Stereo with a numbered sleeve.

1968 PCS 7067/7068 -  APPLE RECORD LABELS.

A UK first pressing top loading Stereo copy with a unique serial number of  ‘ No. 0515423 ’ and featuring:

1. unusually there are the letters ‘ K T ’ embossed around the spindle hole on label four, 

2. oddly labels one and two have the text  ‘An EMI Recording’, but this text is NOT present on labels three and four !. 

3. on label two, the line of text ‘Sold in UK’ etc has been printed in a ‘slimmer’ font !, while the other  three labels have this line of text printed in the regular ‘wider’ font !.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in excellent condition, the double album gatefold sleeve has an excellent unspoilt glossy laminate. On the front it has an embossed Beatles logo and a unique individual SERIAL Number of No. 0515423, this number appears VERY clear and bold. To the rear there is a small ‘Stereo’ text printed proving this to be a genuine STEREO sleeve, unusually this text appears VERY clear and bold. The unusual THIN spine is clean and in very good++ condition and all the text can be read. The sleeve features two visible flipbacks when the sleeve is opened, these flipbacks are all excellent and well stuck down. When the sleeve is opened it is very glossy, clean and tidy.  The rear of the sleeve is also very clean and glossy.  There are NO splits, tears, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

THE INNER SLEEVES: are the two original APPLE black inner sleeves and have NOT been replaced.  The first sleeve is in excellent+ condition with just a small ‘nick’ to one of the opening edges, otherwise there are NO splits or tears. The other sleeve is in very good+ condition, it has some ‘fraying’ to one side of the opening edge, otherwise there are NO splits of tears.

NOTE:  the original four photos and poster are NOT present.

THE VINYL:  side one and two are in excellent condition,  side three is in very good++ condition, side four is in near excellent condition.  The records have remained very dark  and glossy and have not seen much play. The records are made of the original ‘thick and heavy’ vinyl.

The matrix nos. are:   YEX   709 – 1,  YEX  710 - 1, YEX  711 - 1 and  YEX 712 - 1. 

The Mother/Stampers are:   ‘ 1   O R ’,    ‘ 3   G R O ’,  ‘ 4   G A O  ’  and   ‘ 1   G D P ’.  

THE AUDIO:  sides one and two is excellent, side three and four the audio is very good but do play with some crackle. Each record lays flat on the turntable and plays well with NO sticking or jumps from the needle.

THE LABELS:  side one and two are in excellent condition, side three is in excellent+ condition, side four is in excellent condition. As mentioned, usually there are the letters ‘ K T ’ embossed around the spindle hole on label four. As this is a very first pressing two of the labels feature the original DARK green Apple colours. All the labels show the text ‘Sold in the UK’ etc, the George and Ringo songs are listed as ‘Apple Publishing’. Oddly labels one and two have the text ‘An EMI Recording’, but this text is NOT present on labels three and four !.  The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.
