Up for bids is a very rare original Mono Rock double LP set of The Beatles and The Four Seasons called "The International Battle Of The Century ? The Beatles VS. The Four Seasons". Vee-Jay Records. DX 30. 1964.

This was actually a double LP repackage for both the albums "Introducing The Beatles" (VJLP 1062) and "Golden Hits Of The Four Seasons" (VJLP 1065). This is why the labels on the LP's do not mention the "Battle" or the aforementioned catalog number. Vee-Jay just took each LP and put them in these covers. Genius!

NOTE: I knew this was real, but I had it verified anyway in-person by one of the leading experts in Beatles Vee-Jay collecting. I will confirm his name only upon e-mail request.

Original brackets logo with rainbow colorband.

No poster.

"Beatles" Matrix (or Trail-Off) Numbers read as a faded stamped "AudioMatrix" logo followed by an etched "63-3402 - 1" then a faint etched "ARC3254" and finally an etched "URJ" for Side 1; and a faded stamped "AudioMatrix" logo followed by an etched "63-3403" with an extremely faint and faded etched date of "2-12-64" under that, then a very faint etched "ARC484" then the etched "URJ" and finally an etched " | |A " for Side 2.

"Four Seasons" Matrix (or Trail-Off) Numbers read as a partially faded stamped "AudioMatrix" logo followed by a faded stamped circled "(MR)" logo then a faded etched "63-3408" then a faint etched "ARC" then an etched "A" then an etched "RA" and finally an etched "? 5713" for Side 1; and a partially faded stamped "AudioMatrix" logo followed by a stamped circled "(MR)" logo then an etched "63-3409" then a faint etched "ARC" then an etched "A" then an etched "RA" and finally an etched "? 5713-X" for Side 2.

Comes with two nice newer plain-white inner sleeves.

Please note that I proudly use the latest Perry Cox Beatles price guide for grading and reference.

NOTE:

The grades I use are Mint (rarely used grade), Near Mint, VG+++ (rarely used grade), VG++, VG+, VG, VG Minus, Good+, Good, Fair and Poor.

Cover is in VG+ condition. There is some minor wear and scratching on front and back. Front's top-left corner has some minor tearing and a small ding. Bottom corner at opening also has a small ding. No splits! Checklist on back cover has small ink dots in some song title "Score By Rounds" boxes. Despite any imperfections, it is still a great looking cover! 

I would rate the Beatles record’s condition as VG to VG+. Has some marks, wear and scratches. There is some minor distortion at times. Still sounds great on my player!

I would rate the Four Seasons record’s condition as VG Minus to VG+. While it really plays nice with some marks, wear and minor scratches, there are two curve warps directly across from each other that may cause a needle to move or skip. It does NOT do that to my needle at all on either side. Just wanted to mention it though. You could probably replace it with a better copy. I don't always do that. Despite the warps, the record still sounds great on my player!
