The Beatles – S/titled (aka “The White Album”) D/LP (orig. Australia STEREO Apple PCSO-7067—1968, TOP-OPENING gatefold cover, double-sided foldout poster, no photos)

Recorded between 30 May - 14 October 1968 ~ Australian release date: 21 December 1968 (UK release date: 22 November 1968).

On offer here is one of the CROWN JEWELS of any Australian BEATLES collection.  This EXTREMELY RARE LOW NUMBERED version “15113” of THE BEATLES “White Album” is an ORIGINAL FIRST AUSTRALIAN STEREO ISSUE.  I know this to be a fact because E.M.I. (AUSTRALIA) sent this particular copy to ABC RADIO on the album’s first day of release in Australia (21 December 1968).

Cover:

front & back EX beautiful laminated appearance.  Some handling wear – front: very minor stain or residue (top-left), spine: 20mm & 10mm seam splits (centre) / spot peeling / minor creasing, bottom seam: large seam splits (front & back centre) / minor storage staining (ex-ABC Radio copy).

inside gatefold EX beautiful laminated appearance, minor peeling along inner spine.  Timings have been written next to each track.  Normally I would have removed these annotations (and this can be done easily), however this once belonged to ABC Radio and I feel there is a bit of history here, so I will let you decide whether it stays or goes!

Poster:

VG++ light handling wear and creasing, otherwise AOK.

Record:

VG- to VG visual: beautiful glossy sheen—NUMEROUS mainly light surface scuffs, however there are also a few light scratches (side 1 has the lowest grading); audible: some underlying surface noise & occasional light pops—has obviously been played a lot (ex-ABC Radio copy), but THE OVERALL SOUND IS STILL PUNCHY AND VIBRANT.  One skip each on ‘While My Guitar Gently Weeps’ and ‘Happiness Is A Warm Gun’, two skips on ‘Revolution 1’; labels: heavy spindle wear, ‘ABC’ imprint (indentation) on sides 1 and 3.

Extra info: the records have been stored outside of their cover, so as not to cause any further deterioration (i.e. seam splits).
