Description
The Beatles "White Album" UK 1968 Mono.Marix No's XEX 709-12 -1/-1/-1-1. Mother Stampers Disc 1: 4GHH / 3 LO.Disc 2: 1 GT / 1RO Low Number 0053305
The Vinyl rates at VG- Both vinyls look Clean and Shiny with the usual hairlines and the odd scratch. There is some surface noise with a stick on side four,a jump on side one and side three. These could be put down to my new rather unforgiving stylus as the LP's look Great Visually and these blemishes aside they play ok with not much surface noise.
The Top Opening Gatefold Sleeve would rate overall at VG it still retains its gloss with the odd mark here and there and some slight tanning. The Spine while still Strong shows some lamite lift and a crack,The inner of the Gatefold is Glossy and Clean. The Front of the cover has the Embossed "Beatles" title and the Low Number of 0053305 and are both clearly visible. As Low Numbered copies go this is quite respectible.(See Pics)
The Labels when held up to the light show some spindle wear.(see pics). All 4 Labels contain the "Sold in UK.." Text and all Omit the EMI Credits which would make this an Early issue. Also with Low Mother Stamper Numbers and all the Matrix's ending -1/-1/-1/-1.
The Original Black Inners Would Rate VG- with some tears at the top and middle of one with a small split on the seam and some tears in the middle of the other inner, but still able to hold the LP's inside without fear of them rolling out.
The Four Photos are the Duller,Card backed issues are Original and Rate at Excellent.
The Same Excellent would Rate for the Poster/Lyric Sheet.
On the whole this Low Numbered Mono copy for all of its 43 years is Still Strong and Sturdy and isnt too bad at all and while it isn't Mint its certainly not the Worst either and is Well Worth a Punt.

On 23-Oct-11 at 19:54:41 BST, seller added the following information: As a point of interest,on one of the discs the apple labels are off kilter, with the matrix numbers being in the 10 O'clock position.I'm not sure how unusual this is,but having checked my other Beatles Apple issues this is not so,with all of the other matrix numbers being in the usual 5-6 O'clock position.Thanx.price rating
