- Stampers:
Side 1: 5/PR;

Condition
Cover: EXCELLENT
The original Garrod and Lofthouse top-opening cover is intact with no rips or tears. There is a slight yellowing from age, but the text is clearly readable and the embossed ‘The Beatles’ and serial number are very clear and undamaged.
The spine is strong, but the laminate is slightly torn at each end. Inside the gatefold there are 1or 2 very light creases, but all seams are in excellent condition, as are the top openings.
RECORDS
Side 1: Label: EXCELLENT +
Intact and undamaged, no pen marks, very very light spindle wear
Disc: EXCELLENT
Surface is bright and glossy, with a tiny light scratch visible, which doesn’t produce any discernible noise when playing the record.
Playback: EXCELLENT ++
Clear sound on all tracks with just an occasional hint of ‘wear’ between tracks. No hiss, distortion, jumps or repeats anywhere.
Side 2: Label: EXCELLENT +
Intact and undamaged, no pen marks, very very light spindle wear
Disc: VERY GOOD ++
This is the only one of the 4 sides that is not in tip-top condition, with a couple of light scratches near the lead-in – barely visible, with just a minor effect on playback (see below). Apart from this, the surface retains its bright, glossy appearance
Playback: VERY GOOD++
There is a very small amount of ‘popping’ at the start of side 2, and slight crackling. The rest of the side plays very well indeed, and in fact, on the quieter tracks (eg Julia), the sound is crystal clear
Side 3: Label: EXCELLENT +++
Intact and undamaged, no pen marks, no spindle wear
Disc: EXCELLENT++
Surface is bright and glossy, with one or two light surface marks only visible in strong light.
Playback: EXCELLENT +++
Clear sound on all tracks - no discernible hiss, distortion, jumps or repeats anywhere.
Side 4: Label: EXCELLENT ++
Intact and undamaged, no pen marks, miniscule amount of spindle wear
Disc: EXCELLENT++
Surface is bright and glossy, with one or two light surface marks only visible in strong light.
Playback: EXCELLENT +++
Again, clear sound on all tracks - no discernible hiss, distortion, jumps or repeats anywhere.
Neither of the records is warped and they both lay flat on the turntable
Photos: EXCELLENT+
One or two corners have slight crease marks if viewed from the back, but not noticeable from front at all
Black inners: GOOD MINUS
Black inners are a little creased. One has a tear running from the centre hole, about an inch long, the other has a tear along one edge
Poster: EXCELLENT++
No pin-holes or tears on the creases, which are still intact. Slight creases in one or two places and miniscule tear on one edge, hardly noticeable.
This is a superb complete 1st pressing of this fine Beatles album. Good luck and happy bidding!
